The type of song that makes you feel weird after listening to it. For me, "Starless" by King Crimson comes to mind.

"A Louse Is Not a Home" by Peter Hammill.  Every time I hear it, it's like a twelve-minute existential crisis.

*Brian Eno - The Fat Lady of Limbourg

Have always been uncomfortable with the music, feels like a bad acid trip.

*Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine

Oppressive Orwellian ambience, very effective.

*Richard Thompson - Do You Like The New Me

Plain creepy!

Uneasy? Ok, but in a good way it would be SAVIOUR MACHINE's THE COVENANT and ICED EARTH HIGH WATER MARK.

Very intense subject matter. It makes you think why as human being can we be so horrible to one another. Uneasy feeling indeed.

Also. On a lighter note. Peaceful easy feeling by the EAGLES. I HATE THE FREAKIN EAGLES!!! Play that around me and it will bring out the psychopath in me. Lol

I like strange stuff like most of us, but:

Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive makes me feel very uncomfortable, like I'm trapped inside Syd Barrett's mind and I can't get out.

Also, most of the things on In The Court of the Crimson King. As much as I hail the album as a milestone, Peter Sinfield's lyrics really weird me out.

Frank Zappa's "Jumbo Go Away" makes me uneasy, lyrically.  I've been a fan for a long time, and I know he has some occasional fun at the expense of others, and usually it gets a pass because it qualifies as satire: making us aware of prejudices and stereotypes by taking them to extremes, exposing the hypocrites of society by taking on their detestable persona in song.  But for this song, it seems like he's just berating a girl because she's fat.  That's just not cool.  What an a-hole.

It's actually a true story, documenting Denny Walley's treatment of a groupie.

Not saying it's excusable, but life ain't always pretty.

Well, I guess I can swallow that, and I'm not as mad at Frank anymore.  He did have a tendency to take his bandmates' embarrassing experiences and turn them into songs.  (e.g. Stevie's Spanking, Jeff leaving the group in 200 Motels). Thanks for the info, I hadn't heard that before.  But I've hung out with Denny on several occasions, and now I've got a beef with him. Ouch LOL

When I first heard Joe's Garage, I hadn't been exposed to stuff like "stick out your hot curly weenie" and "John's got a sausage, yeah man". I hadn't heard that kind of vulgarity in music before and I was somewhat unnerved. I got over it fairly quickly though, I don't know if that's a good thing. LOL

Growing up I've always had an aversion to The Beatles' "Run For Your Life". Maybe John is simply placing himself into the character of some abusive sicko instaed of actually meaning what he's saying, but it still comes across as repellant. To a lesser extent, early tune "You Can't Do That" also comes across as rotten and obnoxious.
Funny too, since certain Stones tunes such as Under My Thumb" do the same thing, but have never bothered me as much for some reason. Maybe it's because I just wrote it off as Jagger being Jagger, but Lennon, for the most part he seemed above that sort of mentality, so when he gets all misogynistic it's more disturbing.

I have 3...

The 1st when I was 10 years old and heard Lucky Man.  The lyrics about the guy dying and that otherworldly Moog synth solo always creeped me out.  That Moog solo was the first time I (and I guess most people) had heard a lead synthesizer and it had this incredibly menacing and alien sound.

The 2nd was on the Devil Doll album "Eliogabalus", song "Mr Doctor."  Almost every one of the 5 Devil Doll albums has very unsettling moments but the best is here when Mr Dr sings, "In the dark, undead is whoever can wait eternally in ambush ready to seize with the fangs".  He does this thing with his voice when singing the word 'fangs' that is completely demonic and quite disturbing.  You have to hear it to understand.

The 3rd is on the Pocupine Tree album "On the Sunday of Life" about 10 minutes in when this voice from hell appears and recites a few lines...highly disturbing...

When I first heard Sui Generis Umbra (black ritual ambient), I just bought the album without having heard anything beforehand . I was a bit disturbed by the music at first listen, hadn't expected such intimidating expressions.

But I gradually liked it more and more and I thought of it as very artistic , uncompromised , powerful and fascinating.  It is completely original, and has unique qualities that I can't find in any other music.

Lennon looked back on those songs with regret in later years; he denounced “Run for Your Life” as a “horror.”

I actually thought “You Can’t Do That” was a bit funny, the way the guy’s such a deluded a-hole that he thinks it’s just the greatest thing for her that she’s his girl, when he admits that he’s more concerned with his standing with his friends, and that his image will be irreparably damaged if she’s even seen talking to another guy.

Maybe John is simply placing himself into the character of some abusive sicko instaed of actually meaning what he's saying, but it still comes across as repellant. To a lesser extent, early tune "You Can't Do That" also comes across as rotten and obnoxious.Funny too, since certain Stones tunes such as Under My Thumb" do the same thing, but have never bothered me as much for some reason. Maybe it's because I just wrote it off as Jagger being Jagger, but Lennon, for the most part he seemed above that sort of mentality, so when he gets all misogynistic it's more disturbing.

Someone mentioned Loveless. I can maybe see that, but it makes me feel so good.
Then again, there's this:

As the local Loveless fanboy, I find that song absolutely necessary. I feel the need for a short bout of screwing around before the assault that is To Here Knows When arrives,

I'm kind of late to be reading this just now, but I actually really wish they did more with that piece. I can't think of anything that sounds like it. It disappoints me when bands make something interesting and apparently go, "Oh that will make a nice one minute bit to mix things up." I say, "No! Really make something out of that!" But that's just me of course. The album as a whole by no means disappoints. It's one of my favorite albums of the '90s.

Beatles Revolution 9 absolutely creeps me out totally esp - the fire sounds and horrific screaming - got a chill just thinking about it :(

Cant listen to anything at all from Suicide,Throbbing Gristle or Wounded Nurse or I have nightmares.

The end voice telling the boy to wake up on Dream Theater's Scenes from a Memory CD absolutely freaks me

Have a lot of trouble going near anything by Comus, Kayo Dot, Faust, Goblin or that horrible witch Diamenta Glass... brrrrrr

Aphrodite's Child - Infinity.
Let's call it a bizarre female orgasm caught on tape....

It fits within the framework of the album perfectly, but I have a friend who likes to play this on it's own to see peoples' reactions...then it quickly gets a little uneasy.

It's pretty risque business, but I have often played (at least part of) one of my favourite Ennio Morricone albums in the house and car with the kids and wife around called Maddalena.  After a particular favourite track of mine there comes an orgasmic track ("Erotico Mistico"), and so I must rush to turn the music off.

Oh, Loveless it's a great album to listen before sleep, it's currently in my cd player near the bed.

- Sopour Aeternus and the Ensemble of Shadows makes me unwell, really, I can't even imanigne that guy (?) without feeling strange.
- Disintegration by The Cure, and Katatonia's Discouraged Ones. I used to play this albums when I was really bad, deep depression and suicide paranoia. Now I'm fine but those albums makes me so down.
- At my first listen at Remedy Lane (Pain of Salvation) knowing about the miscarriage, the woman's suicide  and the whole TRUE inspiration for the concept album I felt really bad for days. Now I love the album again.

I like freak and strange creepy music, like Gorguts and Autopsy's Mental Funeral (kinda extreme), Cranes and Comus, and most of the bands in this thread, but many years ago I was sleeping while listening to Pornography (the cure album) and I woke up opening my eyes during the last and self-titled track Pornography. The atmoshpere there when I was half awake half dreaming was the worst experience ever. I saw strange things around me (just imagination). For the first time I felt fear listening to music.

Zappa's The Torture Never Stops. The first time I heard it I think I was about 16. At first I was really amused, but that woman's screaming and moaning really got to me after a while. It seemed so real.

Sinister midget with a bucket and a mop where the blood goes down the drain.

That Aphrodite's Child track is right up the same alley.

"You Never Blow Your Trip Forever" by Gong. I had a nightmare including a huge grinning face that kept morphing and changing color and speaking along with the song. After I woke up, it became increasingly difficult to listen to Gong anymore.

Symphonic Holocaust by Morte Macabre. Buncha guys from Landberk and Anekdoten with an Italian horror soundtrack tribute album. Low key but really creepy. Four men, four mellotrons - it'd be enough to make Robert Fripp puke.

In a very different vein, Bodies by the Pistols. Still gives me the shivers.

Time this band was on Progarchives, everyone likes them!

I just thought of another that always gets to me - Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - it's actually a Jacques Brel song but nobody ever delivered it like Alex.

It's funny, I bought into the whole media thing of how they suck, can't play their instruments, just a bunch of noise, and I never heard a single track.  It wasn't until 1984 that I was listening to a college station and they played "Submission".  I remember thinking, "I really like this, I wonder who it is?"  When they announced it was the Pistols I fell out of my chair.  Bought the album the next day and I still say "Bodies" is one of the 5 greatest rock songs in history.

Quite a lot of songs by VdGG 1970-1976, like "Refugees", "Boat of Millions of Years", all of "Godbluff", "Still Life", "Man-Erg"... you get the idea, those lyrics...

Also "The Wall" kinda creeps me out whenever I feel I connect with Roger's pain and confessions, doesn't happen everytime I listen to the album but every once in a while there's like a wave of emotion hitting me from out of nowhere.

Those are probably the strongest examples, though there are other songs here and there I guess.
