"If Incubus, Tool and Meshuggah had a threesome, they'd name their child Syqem." - Salvadore Dali in 1952... From Hamburg, and formed in 2003, Syqem were some of the very early Meshuggah followers, but developing their own style ever since, more melodic & more song orientated. For non musicians, they could become THE gate to technical/djent/heavy music. Syqem is about feel, not showing off technical abilites, and their music is intended to satisfy all kinds of different genre-lovers.
After 4 EPs over several years, 2012 is the year of Syqem, and their new album 'Reflections Of Elephants', said to be inspired by the life of Salvadore Dali, was released in the summer of this year.We already have them in Metalmusicarchives: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/syqem.aspx" rel="nofollow - http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/syqem.aspx , but I feel there is enough of a progressive aspect to their music to enable them to be added on this site too.
Syqem are:
Daniel Bernath - 8 String Guitar, Vocals Benjamin Shibata - 8 String Guitar Thomas Bernath - Bass Stefan Kopetsch - Drums
