Any fans of these 2 awesome bands?

This Heat is a totally true original, combining Canterbury prog and RIO with krautrock and all with a punk rock edge.  their 2 albums are masterpieces of studio construction and composition.

VTB are IMHO the natural sucessors to This Heat.  Apart from being British, they also engage in playful experimentation of song and sound forms, though VTB are obviously more 'friendly' and 'amusing' than the rather terse and serious this Heat.  Their double album Classic Erasmus Fusion (2006) about perfectly sums up their aesthetic.

I'm not familiar with VTB but This Heat are pretty good. I have only one album 'Deceit' and actually it's quite a mixed bag, there are some parts I really enjoy and some I don't, but as you said they have an interesting blend of styles and would fit most of RIO fans I guess.

I'm a pretty big fan of This Heat, but I'm not overly familiar with VTB beyond knowing of them.

I recently discovered VTB whilst searching for some free Creative Commons music to use in a video I was editing (all their music seems to be released under this license, which is nice) and I was very impressed, but haven't had much of a chance to really get deep into their catalogue yet.

This Heat are great, obviously.
