People who like the 70's output are going to be disappointed but I'm looking forward to this tour very much.

Wow, that's a lot of 80's material, with only one song from the 70's, and two from the 90's. I like this, though, it's very unexpected and shows that Rush still isn't afraid to pull a surprise on us. I've always loved the way they play the 80's material now, with a fuller live sound and everything, and I'm really excited to hear Red Sector A, The Big Money, etc. And can that be right? Ohhhhh this is gonna be so good!! Manhattan Project, seems to fit well in this "steam punk" theme somehow....I can't wait for Nov 13th. According to another source we also get an Alex solo YES!!!! -------------

I'm glad that they are mixing up their material, although I am also really glad that when I saw them they played Circumstances and a Passage to Bangkok as well as other seventies material.

Eh, I guess I'll be missing this tour. As much as I don't mind some their 80's material, I was really hoping to see some of their other 70's material I wasn't able to hear on their last tour. I listened to cuts of the cleaned up Manchester boot. They sound really good. The new setlist is very conducive to Ged's older voice. Yeah, he can't sing the old stuff anymore and it is painful to listen to him try as was evident on the Time Machine Tour. -------------

Wow! I got into Rush with "Show of Hands" - I'm more than happy to see Territories in that playlist, among serveral other great songs. |

I guess it would have been nicer to see songs like The Enemy Within, Kid Gloves, and Open Secrets. But I'm just glad their playing a lot of 80's material. I can't wait to see them again, they were great on the Time Machine tour but I'll have to go twice this tour.

I agree.....Grand Designs is one of my favs, for some reason I have been spinning Power Windows a lot lately.
 My take on the 80's inspired setlist is this:
I think they have been getting a lot of pressure on a lot of other forums and from fans in general to play more of their older stuff.....pre Permanent Waves. We just experienced all of Moving Pictures live.......brilliant!! So I think the next tour might be a "Classic Songs" Tour and we might get some Hemispheres/AFTK/CoS/2112-Side 1/Fly By Night....So instead of 20 songs and a 3hr show, we will get 12 songs and 3hr show.......So heavy 80's this tour, and next will be heavy 70's

They're just alternating between 2 sets, 5 different songs each time. I'm stuck with The Body Electric, Bravado, Carnies, Mahatten Project, and Spirit of Radio instead of Middletown Dreams, The Pass, Seven Cities of Gold, Dreamline, and 2112 Overture / Priests / Finale. I just want my 2112. I'm actually really disappointed in this set though. They're going to play half of Power Windows, but no Mystic Rhythms or Marathon? Other than those two songs, I absolutely can not get into that album, which to me is their weakest other than Vapor Trails. They're playing over twice as many songs from Signals to Hold Your Fire as they are from pre-Signals. I'm also going with a friend who I'm trying to get into Rush (using their earlier stuff), so he might have a bit of a weird time not recognizing anything until the last four songs.  But, in the end, it's Rush, and I love those guys. I'm interested to see if the string section stays out after Clockwork Angels is done, I think YYZ with strings could potentially be unreal. ------------- And everything under the sun is in tune But the sun is eclipsed by the moon |

i love that they are playing 80s stuff. having seen them so many times i don't need to hear the same stuff over and over. i am surprised they didn't keep a few more Moving Pictures tunes. they are probably not playing marathon because they played it last tour. bring on some Test For Echo and more Counterparts! ------------- Stardust we are. -Roine Stolt |

Either setlist works for me.....I have not heard Manhattan Project in awhile live......So that would be cool. Marathon has been played already on Time Machine.
None of these shows yet have featured the strings? -------------
