I saw a few posts about cinema here, and I thought to put a new topic about Tv series.
As you all know the last years many many series became very popular, and many people have spend hundreds of hours watching them.
So, although I believe is a tough one, if you want write down your 5 most beloved/favorite TV series...

Here are mine in no order:

Band of Brothers
Friends
How I met your mother
Game of Thrones
Life on Mars

Arrested Development
Seinfeld
The Twilight Zone
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Simpsons
The Office

I don't really watch much tv besides those shows, classic sitcoms, and sports. The order is accurate.

As far as shows that are on right now, "New Girl" is probably my favorite.  Zooey D is a megababe, and the show is laugh-out-loud funny.

I'll admit I'm not really sure what qualifies as a mini-series anywhere. Just thought of them as rather short compared to the others.

I don't watch TV. I've gotten to where tuning in to anything, commercials or otherwise, for more than ten minutes drives me into an unintelligible rage. The only three TV shows I have ever loved:

-The Twilight Zone (original) - but this is merely an expansion on my love for socially-oriented science fiction short stories, especially guys like Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury, and Richard Matheson.

-The Prisoner (original) - Golly, but wasn't that remake dreadful?

-Monty Python's Flying Circus - funniest televised programming I've ever seen.

I also used to dig Cowboy Bebop a great deal, but now realize it was primarily due to the music more than anything else. I enjoy the OST more than the show.

As far as I see from your posts, probably you don't know a very good series, which I strongly recommend!
It is called "Life on Mars". (Imdb rating: 8.5)
It's an English series, 2 seasons, 8 episodes on each season.
It contains lots of great music from the 60's and the70's (Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, The Who,LOTS of David Bowie etc) and is a very interesting and weird story. I can't tell you about the plot because I don't think I can explain it so well.
But my suggestion is to give it a try sometime. It surely worth it!
Oh! and it is a BBC production... Wink

Arrested Development
Seinfeld
Fringe
Futurama
Dragon's Den
That 70's Show
The Twilight Zone

Star Trek

Mind you, some of shows I hardly follow. Just when they're on, I'll watch them and maybe buy a season. Approve

I love the remake of The Prisoner, but for subjective reasons.I have to admit I donīt know the original. I have a strong personal and emotional  connection to the town where it was shot. The Remake was shot in Swakopmund, Namibia (I actually walked through some of the sets while they set them up for filming). Swakopmund is the place where I spend many holidays since ealry childhood and seeing this place in a TV series was just magic for me. Appart from that, judging objectively, I think is was not an excellent series , but definately not a dreadful one.  But like I said, I can not compare it to the original.
