OTHER NEWS

The band has had a busy year and there have been a number of other CD and download releases.

A new 10 minute track called Kingmaker featured on the import and iTunes version of the Far Skies Deep Time EP released in August 2011 (Kingmaker replaced Master of Time which was on the original version of the EP.)

We have a limited supply of the import version of Far Skies Deep Time available for sale on our website.

Kingmaker is also available to listen to or to buy as an individual download in high quality audio at:

http://bigbigtrain.bandcamp.com/track/kingmaker" rel="nofollow - http://bigbigtrain.bandcamp.com/track/kingmaker

In April last year, we re-issued our first album, Goodbye to the Age of Steam. Originally released in 1994, the re-issued version was completely remixed from the original master tapes and features three bonus tracks and new artwork.

Goodbye to the Age of Steam and our other releases are available at our website where you can also find links to our Amazon stores and download shop.

Finally, we are hoping to play some gigs in the next year or two and we will keep you posted of any news.

Best wishes

Andy, Dave, David, Greg and Nick

Sometimes I wish artists on my "must get new releases of" list would slow down a little.

It's boring, ugly, and uninspired.

Not their best cover, though. I this must have something to do with the concept, otherwise i'll be terribly disappointed (with the cover).

Dude, what would an over-sized Yeti know about art???Wink

I agree with Horizons, poor album art. They should take a page from The Flower Kings and go a bit more
classy.  All that vague modern art crap is better suited for wandering avant-guard bands, whose music goes
nowhere, now that I think of it...

Big Big Train should check out the new RUSH or YES records for some inspiration for album art.

The Underfall Yard is so damned good, it is one of those albums which ensures you will buy every single one that comes afterwards.

Come September 3rd, this will be on the purchase list.

This is a really good single, but i encourage you to buy The Difference Machine if you prefer epics or Far Skies, Deep Time if you want more shorter songs, but it comes with an amazing closing epic too.

I'm eagerly waiting for it. and you are quite right in saying that; since Underfall Yard I've been following these guys and I've bought Far Skies, Deep Time in no time (and I love it!). English Electric will definitely be in my collection in no time.

Plane Groovy have yet another huge announcement this bonfire night; we’re releasing the exceptional “English Electric Part 1” by Big Big Train as a double heavyweight vinyl album, in a limited edition of 500 numbered copies. This is quite simply my favourite UK release of the year, and I couldn’t be more pleased to get the chance to put the album out on vinyl.

As well as the regular album this release contains two bonus tracks: “Victorian Brickwork” from “The Underfall Yard;” “Kingmaker” featuring new keyboard parts from Andy Tillison which were recorded especially for this release.

If you’re not familiar with the album then I urge you to give it a try. For a wealth of background information about the songs themselves, please check out these links …

http://bigbigtrain.blogspot.co.uk/
http://soundemporium.blogspot.co.uk/

… and to pre-order the album from midnight on 6 November, visit www.planegroovy.com

We expect to receive delivery of the album in mid-December.
