Hello people I am looking for a band or an album which incorperates all the styles of Trace, Yes, Genesis, etc. I like alot of catchy keyboard progressive rock, Please help! All suggestions are welcome Justin |

that's recent Spock's Beard, if you haven't heard them already! Try "V" or "Snow", great albums.

try "a night with john petrucci and jordan rudess" after what bityear said, great choice Derek Sherinian - Black Utopia, the ex-alice cooper ex-dream theatre great keyboardist made this album along with ozzy osbourne's guitarist Zakk wylde and had Yngwie malmsteen and Al Dimeola to play for him some tracks too !!! a great great album Vitalij Kuprij - High Definition, the -also- great keyboardist got Greg Howe playing guitars for him too ------------- when i sell my life story, maybe i should write it first and do the living later 'cause life is so much cleaner on the page |

Hi there, I listened to Spocks Beard and I wasnt too sure about them, I also listened to the Flower Kings, but I can't stand the singers voice, its really husky. Whats U.K.'s Albums like? Justin |

I don't know if you have the chance to pick up some Italian prog album, Justin, but if you can try MUSEO ROSENBACH's Zarathustra or LE ORME's Felona e Sorona. Superb music!

Try " IQ" the first 2 albums have some Genesis stlye and also try CAST they have good keyboard playing. |

Justin! Man, you gotta listen to Marcelo... I also think that in order for you to get started on prog rock, you gotta get yourself into Italian prog. If I may make a humble suggestion here, I’d recommend you also get these 3 albums: Premiata Forneria Marconi – “Per un amico” Banco del Mutuo Soccorso – “Di Terra” Il Balleto Di Bronzo – “YS” Also, if you want to read a lil’ bit more ‘bout LE ORME, log on to my review on the site according to the album “Felona e Sorona” (also check some other reviews upon Italian bands such as FINISTERRE – In Ogni Luogo, TALE CUE – Voices Beyond My Courtain and BMS – “Io Sono Nato Libero”) ------------- break the circle reset my head wake the sleepwalker and i'll wake the dead |

HI, THIS IS CÉSAR INCA. For recent examples of good prog with prominent keyboards, let me recomend you SATELLITE'S "A Street Between Sunrise and Sunset" (2002), which has already been reviewed in ProgArchives. Which leads me back to COLLAGE's "Moonshine", another excellent symphonic recording with tons of 76-78 Genesis inspired keyboard parts. Also: RICK WAKEMAN' s "Out There" (2003), the last two records of GLASS HAMMER, JORDAN RUDDESS's solo album, as well as TONAS BODIN's "Pinup Guru", and the duo project CLIVE NOLAN & OLIVER WAKEMAN. Catchy keyboards ? Try Rudess obviously (his collaboration with Morgenstein on the RUDESS-MORGENSTEIN PROJECT is really mind-blowing). Check out also NATHAN MAHL, a fusion band that features current Camel's keyboardist : Guy Leblanc. HAPPY THE MAN is also keyboard-oriented. And I suppose you already have it, but UK is also a good choice. In the style of UK, you can also put an ear to FM's "Black noise". BTW, Try ANDRE ANDERSEN solo work, changing skin and black on black, he is one of the best keyboardists ever, and voted best metal keyboardist by many magazine i dont recall any names now, i think you can find samples in his site ------------- when i sell my life story, maybe i should write it first and do the living later 'cause life is so much cleaner on the page |
