King Crimson Members Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto Confirm ‘Crimson ProjeKct’

July 17 @ Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club, NYC

Lineup Features the Adrian Belew Power Trio,

Stick Men (w/ Tony Levin & Pat Mastelotto) & Extended "Crim-centric" Encore

w/ Special Guests Consider The Source

King Crimson members Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto will be bringing the Crimson Projekct to NYC on July 17 - the only headlining date during their summer tour with Dream Theater.  Combining forces, the Crimson Projekct will feature full sets by Adrian Belew Power Trio and Stick Men, and an extended “Crim-centric” encore, where Adrian, Tony and Pat will perform some of their favorite pieces work from King Crimson.

King Crimson is an elite club,” says Belew. “There have only been seven members in the last 30 years. Having Tony, Pat and myself onstage, three legitimate Crimson players, will make this as close as currently possible to the actual thing.”

To make this concert even more colossal, the trios will combine to close out the show.

“Then the others will come out to join us as a double trio, fairly well covering what Crimson had in the 90s lineup,” adds Levin. “It should be a big challenge, wild music, and great fun.”  Toting the loaded description “Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Funk”, local favorites Consider The Source will open the show.

Located within the South Street Seaport, Beekman has an open-air tent for more than 800 people and a 200-ton sand beach for hundreds more, all with a backdrop of the East River, the Brooklyn Skyline, and the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg bridges.

It looks like a cool show.  But still not enough for me to break my rule against signing up for social media.

I have had the privelege of playing with Consider the Source a couple of years ago when I was in a band called Detective Blue.  You will not be disappointed!  These are guys are an incredible band!  How awesome is it that they ate sharing the stage with prog rock legends!

Lucky it's not passover.  Then the only Crimson bassist they could eat would need to be un-Levined.
