McDonald's and Subway are ahead of every fast food restaurant in sales but are these your favorite fast food chains.

Grew up on Wendy's and Dave Thomas commercials. Greensburg, PA has always been a Wendy's town. I do also enjoy Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Quiznos (though we no longer have one), the occasional KFC and Taco Bell, Arby's market fresh turkey bacon (though I'm still pissed at them for eliminating the pick-5, years ago), and sometimes Sonic. I've never even seen a Jack in the Box. Also, Dunkin Donuts, while being fast food, doesn't seem to fit with the rest of these as it's not really a lunch or dinner option. I don't consider Pantera Bread to be fast food, at all.

In Perú we have a burger restaurant chain called Bembo's Burger Grill.
All the meat is real and A class plus the advantage of the grill (hate fried burgers) and Peruvian sauces rather than mayonnaise, ketchup or mustard.
The chain has grown in a few years to most South America.
This one for example has only lettuce,. onions with ají (Peruvian chili), morcilla (blood sausage) and sweet potato sliced
That's the only fast food chain I eat in.

Other restaurants: the local snackbar / "frituur" (Dutch) / frietkot (Flemish) / friterie (French), which are so popular in the Netherlands, Belgium and the north of France. French, no Belgian fries with mayonnaise (no yuck, but yummy), Bicky Burger, kipkorn (chicken) or stoofvlees (stewed meat)

That's what happens when you set tea up on a pedestal. I like good things as much as any somewhat middle-class white dude, but you Brits have an intense cult of tea there. I'm not surprised you're not satisfied with anything but the best brewed tea. Give me a bag of Twinings and hot water and I'll spare the complaining, myself.

A bucket of builders tea stewed for several days and served in an empty paint can would suffice to be honest and still be better than what passes for tea at most fast-food outlets. As for we Brits, we do not have a cult of tea, intense or otherwise - 99% of us drink regular tea (PG-Tips or Typhoo or some such supermarket brand) in a regular cup and would neither know nor care whether it's Assam or Darjeeling, though I will say that Twinnings is mainly consumed by the psuedo-middle classes and foreigners. Most Brits when dining out generally drink coffee, then how hard is it to screw-up making a cup of coffee?
I've never noticed that Starbucks burns the beans, I have noticed Costa does but that's personal preference surely - a rich roast in my estimation is not carbonised, but if you're happy to pay more for a cup of coffee in Starbucks than you'd pay for a bottle of beer then I'm not going to complain.

I don't know what the fast food tea situations is there, but here most places that serve hot tea do it with bags. Bags are sufficient for me, so I never have anything to complain about.

Tea in bags is just fine - no complaint there - I use bags most of the time because they're quick and convienient, just as if instant coffee didn't give me migranes (f*ck knows how, it just does) I'd probably be happy with that too. Most fast-food outlets do not have the water hot enough to make tea correctly and they use UHT milk, which may be okay in coffee but it's foul in tea.

I don't even. Not even drunk can I eat that crap (this is honestly true) Ugh I feel sick thinking about it.
I used to be bad with that stuff but I barely get fast food anymore, and when I do it's always Chipotle.
Sure it's not good for you but compared to Wendy's and Taco Bell...and you get more than Subway. Which are the other ones I do like, though again I havn't had any of those in a long while.

Have you ever looked at a tea bag that most fast food places or a diner will give you? Try it and let me know if you can see any leaves in there. It's essentially a bunch of a dust that will color the water and give people an excuse to not feel bad about drinking hot milk with four tablespoons of sugar.

Eh, sure some are better than others, but the only tea I've actually disliked seriously was at this one sushi place, and I'm pretty sure it was made out of clay. I don't really make an objective of mine to sample teas from McDonalds or whatever, but I've never been disappointed. I don't really have expectations for those things. I'm more a coffee guy anyway.

I went through high school in a small Kansas town (Derby) and we mostly ate at Sonic, Taco Bell or Pizza Hut (back when it took a half-hour to cook one of their pizzas). Went back there recently and all three of the original stores are gone. Today I prefer Red Robin. |
I'm thirty miles away from there. Winfield, which has even less choices than Derby. Derby does have Casa Martinez, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants though. You ever eat there?
|
Yeah not only have I eaten there, I went to school with some of the Martinez kids, was on the wrestling team with one of them. Good food, pretty authentic. If I remember right that place was a sporting goods store back when I was living there. I bought my high school letter jacket there. The Mendoza's used to have a restaurant next to the police station but it closed a few years ago. I think there's a another Taco Bell there now.
I've been to Winfield several times and you're right - not many options for good food there.

I like Papa Gino's the best. It's kind of regional.
Then Subway,
I like Wendy's too
It's hard with my diet. Anything and everythings at least 600 calories.
When I order a pizza I usually end up consuming at least 1000 calories. I can't help it.
A sub at Subway is 900 Calories
At wendy's a Ultimate Chicken Grill is 340-something, plus fries, is something near 600.

That's really cool man, very nice people who own that restaurant indeed. No idea you had lived in Derby, that's really awesome.

I have two confessions to make. 1. I held a fast food job for a few months when I was in college. It was a chain that was started as a healthier alternative to Wendy's (multi-grain buns, etc.). Wendy's started matching their menu somewhat by offering similar healthier alternatives until D'lites went out of business. I had moved on to my first drafting job by then. 2. Used to eat a Taco Bell a bit when I was in college, but preferred Del Taco (better tacos and nachos). With finding good taquerias in the area I had quit going to both. I think Del is out of business. On my last job there were two Taco Bells about equidistant from the office, one up North Druid Hills Road and the other up Bruford (actually Buford) Highway (the good taquerias are a few miles further up). I quit after getting a few bad tasting taco salad shells and chips at each place. It was convenient but...

I'm thinking about going to Taco Bell right now. Maybe KFC (it's closer to my house). I'm tired of burger joints though.

As others have mentioned we don't have many of these in the UK but we have a lot of non-chain local fast food places. A regional speciality in the North East of England is a healthy snack called a ' http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2009/oct/09/parmo-regional-snack-foods" rel="nofollow - parmo ': http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2009/oct/09/parmo-regional-snack-foods" rel="nofollow -
Not that I have ever had one. I'd rather have a curry.
