It’s not enough that Chino Moreno is the frontman of Deftones, has the side project ††† (Crosses) with Far guitarist Shaun Lopez and once had another side project called Team Sleep. The man continues to take on more work and has formed yet another new band called Palms. Moreno and three former members of the band Isis (Aaron Harris, Clifford Meyer and Jeff Caxide) have joined forces and are planning to release an album this year. Harris explained that Palms began “a little over a year ago out of a desire to continue making music together after Isis ended.” He added, “Chino joined shortly after and our sound took shape from there. We’ve worked really hard on this first release and are excited for people to hear it. It’s nice to be back behind the drum kit, and with this line up.” Moreno also let his excitement show saying, “Being a huge Isis fan I’ve always dug the moods these dudes convey with their sound. I am excited to combine my sense of creativity with theirs, and to have fun doing so.” So now we have an album from Palms coming this year as well as a new Deftones album? Looks like Chino wants to be the hardest working man in metal…and I’m more than okay with that.
