This is a very fine band and album indeed. They are based in Roanoke, Franklin County VA, USA.From their bio at Reverbnation.com:"The Aurora Observatory is a conceptual progressive rock group grown from several over fertilized minds in the mountains of southwest Virginia. Their sound is a combination of a wide variety of genres including rock, blues, dub, metal, psychedelic, and freestyle. TAO creates a unique listening experience by using dynamic energy driven beats and percussion, powerful and progressive guitar, keys, bass, and clean, but energetic vocals. They touch on many different emotions and feelings to generate scenic landscapes with their music; which encourages the listener to “open their minds” “Failure Of Imagination” is a conceptual piece based on a tragic tale, the storyline centered around a very unique individual and his unexpected rise to power. Vocally, the album explores all of the different emotions associated with the situations the main character is thrust into, but leaves the overall story vague enough so the messages remain universal. Musically, it takes you on a ride through many different peaks and valleys, conjuring these epic moments at times by using intricate riffs and odd time signatures and at others by using subtlety and ambiance, leaving a less is more feel."
