thanks Harmonium.
We're in the process of setting up a kickstarter fundraising campaign as well. I'll post back here when it's ready to go....

Just an update: We videotaped a short intro for kickstarter at practice today. nothing fancy or anything, just us in the practice room with me talking about the album a little. Brandon just has to edit the video tonight and then I'll finalize setting up the campaign tomorrow hopefully. And then we have to be "approved" by Kickstarter. I'm not not sure how long that process takes but I think it shouldn't be more than a couple of days. So everything should be ready to go by mid week, knock on wood

We've got lots of cool incentives and as as an added bonus I'm going to set up a pay-what-you-want download on our website for Feathers for Flesh to coincide with the campaign launch.

We are also going to bring the video camera into the recording sessions when they start in April and take little videos of the process so people can see glimpses of the process. Maybe we'll stage a big band blow up fight for extra drama

Red Masque will release their new album, Mythalogue, in early 2013. This April they'll start recording at Orion Sound Studios with Mike Potter as engineer and Bob Drake doing the mix.

The band has started a http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/368221863/fund-the-red-masques-new-album-mythalogue" rel="nofollow - Kickstarter campaign to help fund this album.

Here's their description of the album and the Kickstarter campaign:

Mythalogue by The Red Masque

The Red Masque is an avant rock / progressive rock band from Philadelphia. We've been around, in one form or another, since 2001. We've released one EP plus three studio albums and one (download-only) live album in that time.

We are going to head back into the studio in April 2012 and will be recording at Orion Sound Studios in Baltimore with Mike Potter as an engineer. Acclaimed musician and producer Bob Drake is mixing the album. The album,  titled Mythalogue, will include such tracks as "The Dark Salt Sea", "The Wendigo", "The Song for Icarus", "The Minotaur" and "The Labyrinth" (an improvisation), as well as some audio surprises. Mythalogue is a thematic album using world mythology as inspiration. Lyrical content can be found on the band's discography page on their website at http://www.theredmasque.com/music.html" rel="nofollow - www.theredmasque.com/music.html .

The money that we are asking for will fund  the recording / mixing / production costs associated with the recording. The total recording costs will actually be more than 1500 dollars, but this amount would greatly help the band fund the project without having to rob our savings accounts :). If we receive funding over the goal, or if there is any left over, we will put it toward band costs (like rehearsal room rental etc.).

Please note: We don't have an exact release date for Mythalogue at this time - it's looking like it will be early 2013 but exact release date will depend on the label's release schedule TBD. We will update backers as we have more information.
