^ the live gigs would have been limited to those under the 'Classic Rock Presents' banner I assume. Nice to see the lovely Christina pick up an award and also 'Mr Reliable' on the bass John Jowitt

Congratulations to Pendragon!
I thought the Passion album carried on and developed the style that was evident in the excellent Pure album.
The standout track of 2011, for me, was Pendragon's "This green and pleasant land" - another worthy winner!
Can't comment on the best gig award - as I've never seen them live - still!

Though they all provided fine performances, it's very much a case of the same predictable names winning every year with the CRS. Very, very happy to see Concrete Lake awarded, I have high hopes for this impressive band. ------------- Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005

As mentioned it's limited to Classic Rock Society performances. But, out of interest Wanorak did you see Pendragon on the Passion tour? I am suspecting not, (forgive me if I'm wrong) but if you didn't see this tour how on earth do you qualify the statement that there were better performances???  I don't think Pendragon won a single thing last year which also goes against the "same winners every year" theory, they did release a stonking and popular album, which included a very popular track. And the blew the rear-end off most live performances I saw last year. If you don't like the winners of the annual CRS poll, like with all democratic situations you need to cast your own vote. To do that you join the CRS, get a nice shiny prog mag every couple of months and get the opportunity to vote for who you believe to be worthy.  |

But you have to admit Wilcey, Pendragon's efforts in the "Best new band" and "Best female vocalist" sections were pretty lame?
I hope young Nick is feverishly writing away for the next album - strike while the irons hot and all that...
