'Highlight Kenosis' were formed about three years ago by singer Oana Maria Stoica and guitarist Matei Damian-Ulmu, who have both since moved to Germany, with keyboardist Alexandru Berehoi, bassist Dragos Serbanescu and drummer John Ciurea completing the original line-up. Their sound has been likened to a mixture of Delain, Muse, Dream Theater and Paramore, with Oana credited as having a vocal range extending from Rachel Cohen to Hayley Williams to Matthew Bellamy to Gwen Stefani...to all-sorts! She has even been described as a 'walking jukebox', having been originally discovered singing karaoke in the style of her favourite singers!

The current band members are: Matei Damian-Ulmu, Oana Maria Stoica, Adi Sardi, and Dan Alexandru.

Their only full abum thus far was called 'Glowing', and was released in October 2009:

'Glowing' (MHO, 2009-10-07)

1. Empty Dreams (5:12)
2. Glowing (7:06)
3. Final Warning (4:27)
4. It wasn`t Love (5:18)
5. I Found Myself in You (6:36)
6. A Drop of You (4:25)
7. Flying Machine (4:56)
8. Thank You for Leaving Me (5:15)

A couple of the live tracks here aren't actually included on the album, and there are plenty more live samples of the band on YouTube too. To me it sounds like a mixture of Prog Metal and Neo Prog, I suppose...which I imagine will make it an absolutely ideal candidate for a game of ping pong. Shocked
Sure as Hell belongs on here somewhere though, don'tcha think?? Embarrassed

I have this album too and was also thinking of suggesting them.  Although the album has its weak points, in particular the lyrics, I think it does belong here.  It does have an interesting sound, I think it veers towards progressive metal, but the neo prog is also strong...  yes, I think it might ping pong Smile

It does belong in Prog Metal definitely, but I dislike their stuff so much that I never felt like suggesting them. But if the people want them, so be it. ;)

Their follow-up album to 'Glowing' is called 'Change', and will be released on May 7th..."as catchy as a Velcro but beautifully and skilfully performed" (Phil at Ravenheart Music)...I can't wait!
