I'd been waiting to see if they'd named their new guitarist before posting about this, and they have, so here goes.

CenturyMedia press release (Jan 16, 2012)

PAIN OF SALVATION – Add Scandinavian dates to European headlining tour in February/March 2012; Announce touring line-up!

Sweden’s PAIN OF SALVATION have now finalized the dates for a massive headlining tour from early February to end of March 2012 by adding another week of shows in Scandinavia.

Following the release of the band’s acclaimed “Road Salt Two” album in September via InsideOutMusic, PAIN OF SALVATION have already successfully embarked on a 3 weeks run of Eastern European headlining dates as well as 5 intense weeks of support shows with Opeth throughout the end of last year.

PAIN OF SALVATION kick off the year 2012 by announcing their new touring line-up after the documented departure of former members Johan Hallgren (guitar/vocals) and Fredrik Hermansson (keys/vocals). Daniel “D2” Karlsson, who has been touring with PAIN OF SALVATION as live bassist for a good while is now a fully confirmed member of the group by taking over the position on the keyboards, while Ragnar Zolberg from Iceland now occupies the vacant guitarist position after highly impressing the band during recent auditions with his varied instrumental/vocal skills. Find more details about Zolberg here: http://www.painofsalvation.com/2011/presenting-the-guitarist

The upcoming tour will present PAIN OF SALVATION in the following line-up constellation:

Daniel Gildenlöw
(also seen with Transatlantic, The Flower Kings, Hammer of the Gods, Genius and Ayreon)
– vocals, fretted and fretless guitars, lute, mandolin and additional keyboards.

Léo Margarit
(also seen in Zubrowska and Ruud Jolie)
- drums, vocals, percussion and mandolin.

Daniel D2 Karlsson – keyboards, vocals, percussion.

Ragnar Zolberg
(also seen in Sign and RÓ)
- guitar, vocals, mandolin and additional keyboards.

Gustaf Hielm
(also seen in Charta 77 and Meshuggah)
- fretted and fretless bass, vocals and double (ie “stand-up”) bass.

PAIN OF SALVATION mastermind Daniel Gildenlöw checked in to comment about the upcoming tour as follows:
“We have added a lot of asked-for unplayed material on the setlist, among others ‘Stress’, ‘Healing Now’ and ‘Sisters’. We are also working on a totally reworked version of ‘King of Loss’ and we are additionally rehearsing ‘The Physics of Gridlock’ and ‘The Deeper Cut’, as well as some older material that we haven’t played in a while.”
