Have you ever written or learned a riff, chord progression, or lead part that you just couldn't stop playing?
I recently wrote a short progression (admittedly lifted a little bit from Rush's "The Necromancer) that I will sit down and play ad nauseum because it's almost impossible for me to stop.  It's just musical paradise for me.
And now I find that I can't sit down to practice without playing Beneath the Surface (DT) 10 times.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

All the time. Mostly when i have composed something groovily technical and then battered it down into a regreatable 4/4 sound. Then it gets revulting in its segmented phrasing and patterns, I can't stop and anticipate every moment of nuance.
