We just recieved 14" (36cm) of snow here in the Pacific Northwest of NA (specifically the south coast of B.C., Canada) yesterday. We average 10" (26cm) anually. A big reason why I live here is that we recieve very little snow as compared to the rest of Canada. Personally, I loathe the stuff. I don't mind shovelling, but it's driving as most other motorists don't drive for the conditions. Usually it's too fast. I'm actually terrified and have anxiety knowing if I have to wander out in a vehicle in these conditions here. Sure the stuff is nice to look at...for a day, but the inconveniences definitely out weigh the advantages for me. What's your attitude towrds snow?

Being from Chicago and now going to school in Michigan, I've lived with snow. The first snow is cool, the second less so... Snow just starts being annoying, cause you have to shovel, plow, etc. It's also a reminder that it's so cold and that spring isn't close enough!

The problem with my neck of the woods is when we get precipitation in winter it's too warm for snow.  Then we get hit hit with ice storms on occasion.  Those are a lot of fun, not. Tongue

Back to the sex and snow thing I was reminded of a Tori Amos line:
"when you're only wet because of all the rain."

I say "let that krapp fall!" I love it...Gives me an awesome reason to work from home and listen to music all day while working.
I stayed home yesterday and today. The 2nd storm came in last night about 2:30am and its still falling as of 8am PST....total only have about 6" (lets see 6 x 25.4 ÷ 10) 15.2cm and we are suppose to end up with about 12" (damn another math problem...12 x 25.4 ÷ 10) 30.5cm LOL

I mainly stay home for safety reasons, I can control my car in the snow but I cannot control other people in their cars....better to be safe than sorry.

In my 27th winter here in PA I've solidly moved over from love to loathe.  Too old for sled riding and snowman building with no interest in skiing or snowboarding.  Snow to me is just a pain in the ass that requires shoveling and inhibits mobility.

Around here we usually either get snow, or -30 (like it was this morning).  Given the option, I'll take snow.

I refer to snow as the DWS - the Dreaded White Stuff.  I don't see how anyone who's ever had to shovel snow or drive in snow can actually like the stuff.

hmmm used to love it, as I've been getting older it's moving to dislike.
Can't say loathe (yet) but I generally am not too excited about it. Last winter accelerated it...snowed every damn week for a while, we had like 6 feet of snow piled up on the lawn. It was higher than I!

It's still nice though. Oddly enough I like shoveling it.

It's the pain in the ass it causes that really gripes me the most.

When the alternate is black ice, snow is OK to drive on

Still being in school, I absolutely love snow. We finally started to get snow this whole school year on Sunday and today and yesterday are snow days for school. I live in the Northwest part of the U.S. and we got hit by this snowstorm thing in the A.M. Around 8 inches on the ground, which is amazing. I made an igloo with my friends today. :P
It doesn't snow to often around here. Just rain rain rain!

Certainly does change with age. I still like it, but not as enthralled as I was when I was young. Definitely gives me a reason to stay indoors and at home.

It seems to become a snowless winter in Belgium once again.
The last few years we had some old fashioned winter months with snow, which was great.
Now things seem to be back to global warming - normal again Unhappy
I do miss the fact that the four seasons of my youth are lost.
Winters are often rainy as late autumns, springs turn often hot as summer, substantial parts of summer often turn out as rainy as late autumns, only early autumn seems to have remained a normal season.
Hopefully February will still be different.

I like snow, but hate it when it begins to melt, making everywhere look a bit daggy... Mind you, coming from a country which grinds to an embarrassing halt if so much as 1/2 inch of snow falls, opinions seem to be divided.

Love it - but it is keeping me from playing golf, so only a few weeks mid winter, then sun and dry.

I grew up in Russia with heavy winters followed by incredibly dirty melting periods so I really hate snowy winters as a whole. I love the fun aspects of snow, but not having a whole season of it.

Had to drive home in a snowstorm today.

Currently I'm brewing up some chili.  The perfect antidote.

Loving it immensely until mid February.
After that, until it melt completely, loathing it passionately.

I think Rob referred to the albums by Spock’s Beard. Anyway, sex would be VI.

Hell, here in SE US plenty of us go completely nutso over a light dusting.  There seems to be a big run on bread and milk at the stores for some reason.  Wacko  Do you guys have a similar phenomenon?
