This new "supergroup" featuring Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Steve Morse, and company will be releasing their debut album in March and perhaps until then a decision will be made concerning if they are to be added?

It'll be pre-evaluated by the monitors of this forum, a sub genre for possible addition chosen, and the task given to the appropriate team, as soon as enough samples are made available to base a decision on.

Any update on this one? Pre-release review copies appear to have been distrubuted to some people and a track was included on the last Classic Rock prog disc.

Forgive me if this somewhat obvious band has already been mentioned but I didn't see it. Also, I'm quite surprised they aren't on here already. This is a super group with Portnoy, Neal Morse, Steve Morse(no they aren't related but it's funny that they are both in a band together now), some other guy who's name escapes me right now, and Dave Larue.

They are actually under evaluation now in Crossover - having been added to progfreak's PA section just a few days ago. You can follow the progress of the evaluation here: http://progfreak.com/Flying-Colors-152894.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Flying-Colors-152894.html?path=pa/recent .

It looks like my post was incorporated into this one. Good. :) Somehow I didn't see this post. I'm glad to see that they are under consideration though. I'm pretty sure it will get in even if it's under "crossover prog."

Prog related. Only two prog songs on there.

Just for that comment I'm really tempted to give it a no.

I got the album and have listened to it a few times - it's atrocious
Fine quality (in terms of recording) pop rock with an artistic twist (at least in the last track), but much of the album is silly pop rubbish.

So I read all the blogs and posts, but has anyone considered putting this band on, cause I am ready to review it.

The crossover team is in the process of evaluation.

Interesting state of play in the evaluation chart: Two votes 'Yes', two votes 'Prog-related', one vote still to be cast...Despite the negative comments about this album that there have been so far, I do have to say I actually rather enjoyed it. It may not be a 'prog' masterpiece, but the songs in general are extremely well crafted, and work well for me...but there again a fair chunk of the music that I enjoy isn't regarded as 'prog' on here, so perhaps that's no surprise!

It would fit perfectly in Prog Related I would think, with the at least kind of proggy music and the four well-known influential prog members.

And with 3 Prog-Related votes, 2 YES votes, I think we can send this to admins for PR genre. Somebody with Special Collaborator title perhaps can do the job ?

Damn, I was afraid it will come to this. Nevertheless, I had someone else on my mind.
No one specific, but it should be someone familiar with the band, who cares about it. But I can do it as well eventually.

Flying Colors have been approved for Prog related. If a prog team wishes to pick them up thereafter, that's fine.
