That isn't what you get when you run the thing to it's max is it? Wait, I'll get back to you.  You have some parameters that you can really max out and still keep going. I disagree with the general methodology if that is what you mean by that. You can trace your dollars back to anything at all. It's kind of stupid. I apparently have 38 slaves. But I've never seen them. Are they invisible? If I own people I want to be able to beat them too, so by denying me that I would hesitate to call them my my slaves. According to this survey, 21 people worked on the stuff I own in the conditions of slavery. But I'm not really sure about all my answers (especially about food and clothes) and I wonder if this survey shouldn't also take in count some other points, such as : - how old is the electronic equipment? - where and/or when were bought the clothes? - what if I buy coffee or eat food from "fairtrade" brands (if this trade is really as "fair" as these brands claim it)? |

I have 25 slaves. And looking at the state of the house and the garden they are not very hard working. When I find them I will give them a piece of my mind!
(Edit went down from 30 to 25 due to changes in medicine stuff)

The test is a nonsense - it assumes too much. Based on the results in this thread there are more slaves than there are people on the planet. Current estimates predict (guess) there are between 2.7 and 100 million people working in conditions that could be regarded as slavery - with around 500million people living in the western world enjoying the benfits of that slave-labour we each "own" 1/5th of a slave. It's still not a number to be proud of, it should be zero. ------------- What? |
