Hello,
I live in Southern California and have travelled extensively around the world. Being an older guy, I have first hand knowledge of the "Golden Age" of prog from having seen the original Ed Sullivan Show with the Beatles to seeing Dream Theater Live and everything in between. A life long Jethro Tull fan, I must have seen them 10+ X's. My knowledge of music is extensive. My uncle was one of the first jazz station D.J.s in L.A. and a lot of his love of jazz rubbed off on me. I am a musician and feel most comfortable around musicians. I am pretty opinionated but I can back most of what I say up when given the opportunity. When I write a post I usually write to teach or share some observation with some of the younger people. When I flame someone it's never, ever destructive but rather to get someone in error to think a bit. I will (almost) never dignify a personal insult with an answer. A person without dignity has already reavealed himself to be the person to stay away from anyway so what could I add? If it gets real bad, thats why we have site administrators.
So everybody starts out with a grade of "A" in my book. They can work their way down to an "F" if they want, no biggie. Musical Tastes: Everybody's got one. Liking and disliking music is an opinon. Trying to change someone's favorites is like saying; What's your favorite color and how can I change your mind? Pretty ridiculous, so I don't go there. Writing; I will never insult a guy on grammer, that is by the way, a back door insult. So you school marms out there beware: I'll smoke you for it. Remember guys writing on this site are sometimes sitting at their computers Sunday morning before their first cup of coffee, and others are from overseas. Humor: I love it. Most web sites are almost humorless, this one is no exception. Funny people or people making attempts at humor (even black levity) make an enjoyable read almost always. So if you flame me at least use some humorous wit. I may sally back, but I'll be 'smilin
Youngsters and foreigners, use this site to hone your writing skills. Sit down with a dictionary if you can, and really put a lot of thought into it. It's a great opportunity to really write something to be proud of and a useful tool later in life.

Thanks for answering me TP. Thought there was nobody out there. I didn't realize it but I'm enjoying myself writing these posts. I guess it's kinda like liking the sound of your own keyboard. Well anyway. I know your a real connoisseur of good prog, whereas I'm kinda luke warm on the genre, so I'm depending on you and the rest of these guys to help me find some diamonds in the midst of all these zircons...
