Having finally added Mr Drake to the archives, what better way to celebrate than with a thread dedicated to his glorious, eccentric ditties?

As I've said many a time already on these forums, I don't think I shall encounter a finer prog album this year than The Rising of the Lights, and whilst it certainly won't be to every prog fan's taste, the sheer quality and uniqueness of it is hard to ignore.

His previous album Briny Hooves also deserves plenty of love and attention from these parts. A perfect collection of psychedelic oddities and truly progressive songwriting.

And as for his debut, well, it's the closest we'll probably ever get to a second Sea Nymphs album.

As with my recent addition of North Sea Radio Orchestra, I hope by adding Mr Drake to the archives he'll start to find greater acclaim and notoriety within the prog community. He certainly deserves to.

It's worth noting that The Rising of the Lights is available for free streaming on bandcamp:

I've only listened to it once so far but it's def in my wishlist for this year to acquire a copy. Good music!

I'll certainly give a listen to this next time I get the chance.

And here's one of the more Cardiacs-y moments from Briny Hooves (which is also streamable on Bill's bandcamp page, incidentally).
