Neal Morse - Testimony. Neal's work on the keyboard and guitar, and all the other guys ... fantastic.

I thought Steve Hackett's 'Once Upon A Time' was one of the greatest, as he delivers perfect versions of his best solo work, and with one of the best bands he's ever had (he's had quite a few).

Uriah Heep's 'Magician's Birthday Party' is another favourite- superb gig.

Jethro Tull's 'Living With The Past' is another great one, with the band on top form.

I also really enjoy Caravan's 1990 original line up reformation (I'm not such a fan of the more recent DVDs Caravan have released).

Talking of Neal, the Spock's Beard double DVD 'Don't Try This At Home' and 'The Making of V' are worth a look. The former is the band live in Holland on the Kindness Of Strangers tour and the latter is...er, well, self explanatory.

The extras on both DVD are worth a look as well (if only for the footage of Mike Portnoy playing 'June' with the band).

It's very nice ... any Beard fan should have that disc, because you'll never be able to see them together like that again. I really like the part where Nick comes forward and joins Neal and Alan for a little 3 acoustic guitar extravaganza ...

Sorry...  Their performance on BBC Sight & Sound is a rip-roarer too, even if it contains some of the less-brilliant Missing Piece material. I wonder if that'll ever make it onto a proper DVD...

King Crimsons deja VROOOM-dvd is till among my personal favorites.

But I hope that the new early live Genesis-dvd will rock harder than anything!

PS

If only there was such a thing as a "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway"-live dvd...

Right now I'm totally diggin on Stars and Gardens by Echolyn. These guys are phenomenal live, soaring and symphonic, but with a sense of intimacy that many of the more bombastic prog bands lack.

Also, nods to those that mentioned Transatlantic - Live in Europe and  KC - Deja VROOOM. Props.

Live at Loreley by Marillion has been a longtime fave, even though I only have the VHSCry

Does 200 Motels count? Its got some performances, but its more of a "conceptual" video piece to illustrate his orchestral compositions. Either way, after you watch it about 5 times, it really starts to make sense (I'm worried that it's because the film is actually rewiring my brain)Confused

EDIT: P.S. Trouserpress, I'm jealous of yer GG DVD, too.LOL
