I've been getting more and more after a while of listening to them on and off when I found out they're coming to Israel. What awesome stuff!!! So pretty, so chaotic, so Czech. Generally awesome.
Haven't really known anyone on this site who likes them. Does anyone of the site here like them?

Aye, aye, Sir! I saw them live in Paris last year: I didn't really know their repertoire (only the few mp3 on their site) but, since I read about them a long time ago, I knew I HAD to... check it out. Too bad they don't often come to France.

They ain't bad. Wouldn't say I love them but they have some great tracks. Their second album in particular rubs me in all the right ways.

I've got Caves and Hollywood, and love both. I've also recently acquired their first album and their live in Vancouver album but have not given them a listen yet. Regardless, they are definitely a band I am a fan of and one whose discography I hope to finish collecting. I love their energy.

I'd say Unloved World or Fairy-Tales From Needland.

Ta. I've only found Nemilovany svet for streaming, alas. Is that one a reasonable introduction or should I hold out till I can afford one of the above?

So far I only have Hollywood, which is quite fun.

I would also suggest Hollywood as the starting album, as it's the one I started with. I think it's worth it just for the title track, a rather captivating, and addicting track.

You're in luck! Nemilovany svet is Unloved World. (I'm assuming in their native tongue.) I guess I added them to my library during my I like English phase.

That was handy. Well, after an initial listen my feelings are they're good, but I can't tell what makes them special, at least not yet. When you've listened to as much herky-jerky woodwind-laden avant-prog as I have, it all starts to sound a little formulaic and you have to dig deeper to see what makes certain artists truly unique.

Well for one I really don't think they sound like avant-prog at all. But really you should dig deeper! They're definitely worth it. Much stronger punk songwriting is I think a big characteristic of their's seperates them from any avant prog band.

Yes I like them. I saw them live twice. It's worth it. I would describe their music as post punk progressive rock. So it has a lot of punk music influences with a lot of brass. In the beginning it was more a saxophone, in their later albums it is more a trombone. For those who want to check them out, there are some streams on this site (which I contributed ).
