I was always curious about the use of double bass drums in non-metal musics. So, in the case of Sir Neil Peart, would you drummers experts say that he uses not so for the heaviness, but for the execution of difficult times? Cause sometimes i dont even know if he using double bass.

Oh, one curiosity: does he use double pedal too?

He has 1 bass drum, but uses a DW double bass pedal.

I find that he uses his double bass alot in fills more so than anything else. So i guess, it is for execution instead of "heaviness".

Well it depends on the kit he's using. More recently, he has his legendary 360 kit, which has more than one bass drum, although he has one main one.
