WOOO! I don't know if I can afford all these new albums in September Nuke

**EDIT** BTW, their last album was the most enjoyable album they've released in the last 10 years, so I have a good feeling about this one.

Disagree, I though the last 2 were rather bland. The last great one imho is spirals in hyperspace.
I do hope this is a return to form.

Woo! Between this and the new Alice Cooper I'm going to be a happy camper. Now if the Zappa Family Trust would just follow through on some of their promises for this year, it'd be a brilliant trifecta.

Really? Spirals was my first Ozric album, and I still enjoy it, but after I heard The Yum Yum Tree, I thought it was better. SiH and TYYT are my 2 recent favorites though.

Of course, nothing beats their 90s albums.

I´m looking forward to this. I need to melt what´s left of my brain. On the other hand, it would be really interesting, if they for once tried to slow things down a bit. I´ve always wondered if Iscence was a fluke, or if they just hate playing "gentle" music. I once heard Arborescense at a friends house on vinyl but at the wrong speed, and it sounded great! Maybe they just live off coffee and amphetamine. Anywho, I love these guys regardless.

For some reason the last 2 don't stick with me. Totally agree on the 90s quote btw.
And yes, september will be awesome (even though The Gathering postponed to early next year).

I hope this will be better than The YumYum Tree, which is probably my least favourite Ozric CD (besides SwirlTermination). But if there`d be tracks in the vein of Plant Music (especially), Magick Valley or San Pedro it`d be nice.

Personally I consider The Floor`s Too Far Away their least obvious record, experimental and with so many aspects that make the record perfect to me. So I don`t need new one to be better than that ;)

I try not to havy ANY expectations, but damn it`s getting really soon :)

Wow - looking forward to hearing this but try to go in with no expectations. September is indeed going to be a great month for prog releases! Smile

They never were any good at cover arts. The only successful one is The Yum Yum Tree.
What about this ugly bugger - looks like graffiti from inside a school yardDead

I think it looks alright. I like how it mixes the space theme with some oriental themes. Not their best, but not bad.

Well, it's not that awful... It has some retro japanese touch to it. Pretty strong semiotic sign systems in it. In my opinion not even half as terrible as DT's upcoming Dramatic Turn of Events' cover, which looks as banal a child's drawing and reminds me all those horrible Supertramp albums from the 80's Cry I still suffer PTSD from hearing those, don't know how I'm going to cope with the resurrection of these visuals.

It's OK- better than a lot of their albums- but worse than a lot of their albums. Smile

Some good moments- nothing really jumps out.

Hm. I liked The Yum Yum Tree a lot, and many people said the same thing you said. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas.

There´s always YouTube darkshade, if you´d like to know how it soundsWink
I´m putting this one on my list, but quite frankly there is so much other stuff out there, that I really want - so getting a new Ozrics album is something I´ll wait a bit for - especially since nothing remarkably "new" has happened:

Still sounds pretty awesome though, but then again I love these guys!

Nothing outstanding. All samey to me. They desperately need a hiatus.

Yep, I know what you mean. I grabbed the vinyl copy, and it's decent, but it's exactly what you'd expect from an Ozrics album. Reliable, I suppose, but the band is in desperate need of a rethink perhaps?
