Last Saturday, the14th August I just saw an advertisement, that Hungarian metal bands Watch My Dying and ScerrA will play at the terrace of the A38 boat. Who really cares?Wink But a third name really caught my attention...Yes this is THAT Unexpect, I must see this show!
In this tiny venue ScerrA opened the evening, it was my first ever encounter with them, they seem to be a competent extreme metal band, without being overwhelming. But they are a young band, they may get really great sometime.
But honestly I waited the Canadians.
The stage was almost too small for the Sextett from Montreal, just imagine if Exod still was with them...
They had a short playing time, not more than 50 minutes, but they used it quite well. Highlights from their new album Orange Vigilantes and Unfed Pendulum plus the closing Desert Urbania from their classic In a Flesh Aquarium album were the best moments for me.
It was a bit surprising that The Shiver did not made into setlist, with its Hungarian lyrics, but they really had a too short playing time.
The band is superb on stage, just as in studio, and they are spectacular while playing.  You don't see a 9 string bass guitar at any concert... They seemed to have a good time on the stage.
After the gig I had only one goal(and so I let the headlining act Watch My Dying "dying" on stage Wink), to meet the band members. I succeded, and I must say that they all are just as nice people as great musicians. Now I have an autographed copy of Fables of the Sleepless Empire.
This was their final gig on this European mini tour, I hope they come back some day with a full-time show!

I've been dying to see these guys for quite some time now.  Sounded like a killer show! Thumbs Up

And I'm very jealous you got to kick it with them afterwards.

Unfortunately, there are only two shows scheduled for the Autumn in Canada, but let's hope they will do more gigs next year in North America,  and beyond, most importantly. WinkSmile
