I've heard Velvet Underground (duh), Eno & Cale - Wrong way up (wonderful!) and I'm now listening to Vintage Violence and much like what I'm hearing.

The two proggiest albums from the Great Welsh are IMHO, Paris 1919 and his fantastic collaboration with Terry Riley called Church Of Anthrax - pure genius.

'Paris 1919' is beautiful. As is 'Fragments of a Rainy Season,' Solo piano versions of previously recorded songs.
'Songs for Drella' w/ Lou Reed is very good.
There are a couple of excellent compilations.
One is an overview of all of his solo recordings from 1970s-Early 90s but it is on the pricey side. The other is an Island Records comp that is very reasonably priced, depending in which country you live obviously.

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.
