Greg Lake, founding member and the Voice of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, has just confirmed twenty dates in the UK as the start of his new European tour.
Brian Shaw and Midas International are proud to announce that, for the first time in more than a decade, they are to present GREG LAKE ‘LIVE IN CONCERT’ on a twenty date tour, throughout the UK, this autumn. The Tour will open in Germany prior to the UK dates, which will be posted on Greg's website soon.
This long-awaited tour features Greg and his fabulous new band performing the vicious and romantic music that defined a generation.
Tickets are on sale from the venue box offices from July 1st…don’t miss out!
Welcome back my friends…………
****************************************************
From Greg: To all my friends and fans around the globe, I am proud to announce my forthcoming tour in the UK and Europe. Appearing with me will be, David Arch (Keyboards / MD), Brett Morgan (Drums), Trevor Barry (Bass), Florian Opahle (guitar); each one a star in his own right.
I will of course be performing songs and music which span my entire career alongside some new pieces which have not been heard before! Everybody who enjoyed the music of the original King Crimson and ELP will certainly find this a musical evening to remember. I am very much looking forward to seeing you all on the tour!
Greg Lake.

Forgive my complete ignornance, are you associated to Greg Lake?
I notice that he's playing Tun Wells, which is just down the road from where I live. Probably gonna get some tix.

Will you be at the Nottingham show? Cool. I've never been to the Royal Centre, but imagine it will be a good bit smaller than the Concert Hall, (given that the Orchard is only a 920-seater) - I'm hoping its small enough to get a really intense atmosphere. I'm going to apply for gold circle seating - what does that mean by the way? Does it mean we are within 'request-shouting' distance? Only problem with Nottingham date is that it is EARLIER in November and he might be less inclined to play "I Believe In....". Can you have a word with Greg please - put a wee bit of pressure on. Much obliged
Actually, are you going to the whole tour??

Shame, it would've been good to meet up with some of you 'real' fans in Dartford - unfortunately the nottingham show is just too perfect for us. Box office still not selling them yet, so I'm going to make sure I get the best seats when they come online.
You should've made the effort for PFM in London though Richard!!! I doubt you'll get that close to them again...
I'm going to see VDGG again in Leicester in a few weeks - thought they were so great in London, I managed to get a couple of returns for de Montfort Hall - 3 rows from the front too...!

I'm still writing to them asking if they'll come back to the UK, but I fear my efforts will be in vain. If you ever have reason to go to Italy, just check their website beforehand as they still play fairly regularly over there, to packed piazzas - remember, its now cheaper to fly to Italy, than get a train to Bristol....as I recently discovered!
I don't know how much longer they'll keep going, but amazingly they seem to be going from strength to strength! Perhaps they will include a UK date on their next tour. Apparently Musical Box's Denis Gaigne is appearing with them in Montreal to do Harlequin from Chocolate Kings - that is going to be totally incredible.
If they ever do announce another UK date, you can be guaranteed this website will be lit up like a supernova with me trying to urge fellow Brits along.
I'm away now to watch the ELP DVD again - its just amazing. I had to dig out my Brain Salad Surgery t-shirt again too...!

That ELP DVD is just marvelous... I think its reverted me back to my childhood.
Anyway, I think I'm doing all shows between Edinburgh and Dartford... thats about as much as I can do and still have a job when I return. I could very well just toss the whole job and do it all.
Seeing PFM at Nearfest in a week or two. Haven't seen them since 1975 sometime.. should be very excellent!

Thats total dedication! Maybe Greg could give you a job - tour photographer or publicist or something more exotic - Persian carpet hooverer. By the way, any chance of the 'other two' turning up for a jam? What is the state of Greg's relationship with E & P these days??
If you do decide go to the Nottingham show, get in touch with me nearer the time if you like and you can meet up with me and my girlfriend - we'll show you Robin Hood country...or at least the town statue!! Sherwood Forest is just a bit further north, prompting speculation that the robbing hero might actually have come from Sheffield! All nonsense of course...
PFM are just amazing live - I have no doubt you'll be blown away by them. If the drummer starts singing, head for the bar (!!), although he does sing Out Of The Roundabout and the Sinfield-penned Promenade The Puzzle which are exceptional.
The ELP DVD just gets better and better. The Spinning piano thing is bambozling, and I love showing it to people who clearly expect the piano to 'spin' horizontally. They go from "yeh yeh Simon..." - to gaping open mouths and "...I thought it would...eh...spin..the...how is he doing that then....????"
Classic.

Just curious, did anyone else notice the typo on the poster, or is the song actually called 'In The Begining'?

Most everyone noticed that at the GL.com site. Just the graphic designer is away for the holidays... so it'll have to watch for corrections...
And to Wrath: I'd say not much chance since Carl is touring the same time in the UK... and Keith and Greg still not talking... but after watching the Pink Floyd reunion.... I have to say that anything's possible.
