Tangled Thoughts of Leaving

'Deaden the Fields' Album Launch Tour 2011

Fresh from the release of their debut album, 'Deaden the Fields', Perth's Tangled Thoughts of Leaving are embarking on their first National Tour in September 2011.

Recorded by the band's own Ron Pollard and mastered in Sweden by the legendary Pelle Henricsson (Cult of Luna, Refused, Poison the Well), Deaden the Fields is a mind-bending combination of progressive rock, post-metal, jazz and noise. An epic aural experience with 6 tracks spread over 62 minutes, the album is as emotive as it is technical, as melodic as it is abrasive.

TToL's reputation as an intense and fiercely engaging live act has been building over a number of years, culminating in their recent album launch at The Bakery in Perth. Here's how various media outlets described the launch:

"Post-progressive-jazz-rock-metal-noise, call them what you want but no one could argue Tangled Thoughts of Leaving aren't completely and utterly awesome." - The Wire Mag, July 21 2011

"Even though is was a cold and wet Friday night, it still seemed half of Perth had turned out to see local magicians finally release their long awaited debut album Deaden the Fields. The frequent time signature changes were made to look like child's play as quite possibly Perth's best drummer led the way through the vast and sprawling soundscapes of new and old material. A massive night for Tangled and associates as well as Perth music then, and one that will be hard to out-do" - Drum Media Perth, July 21 2011

The spring tour sees Tangled Thoughts of Leaving share the stage with some of Australia's best post-rock and progressive bands, including multiple shows with Brisbane’s Nikko and former split EP collaborators, sleepmakeswaves from Sydney. See individual show listings for ticket details.
