My wife and I are at this very moment listening to a concert of oud player Rabih Abou-Khalil and the Ensemble Modern, also featuring tuba player Michel Godard, on the radio. In case you don't know the Ensemble Modern: They recorded "The Yellow Shark" with Frank Zappa. An excellent concert so far. And the announcements of Rabih Abou-Khalil, who speaks flawless German without any accent, are simply hilarious. That man has a really weird humor; we have heard other concerts with him before.

This is only one of several acts that will appear in this concert. Here the complete list:

Rabih Abou-Khalil & Ensemble Modern:
Antonio Faraņ Trio
WDR Big Band feat. Toots Thielemans
Boban Markovic Orkestar
La Chicana

Doesn't mean a thing to you? Too bad.

The pause between two of the musical acts is being filled with music from other concerts the radio station broadcasted before. At the moment a concert with the band of Barbara Buchholz, who is one of the few theremin players in the world.
