Hi everyone

I hope this new "game" will work.

All you have to do is listen to some mystery tracks (6 to start off) and try and guess the artist/band and the name of the track (title of album for completists) !

Good luck !

Don't forget to post your answer in the thread !

First track sounds like renaisance...or steeleye span?

Track 4..is that Mike Oldfield on guitar?

Track 5 is definately early Tangerine Dream...maybe!

First track is Steeleye Span - The Blacksmith (album was HARK! THE VILLAGE WAIT or - as they recorded another version for it - PLEASE TO SEE THE KING)
I'm completely lost on the others, though....

As usual I'm lost, I agree with Guzzman it's Blacksmith ... the first rockier Hark! The Village Wait version ... track 4 vocalist is surely Robert Wyatt ... but that's all I've got

Sorry, I don't know any track. But I like them, except track 5.

Track 2 seems like Sally Oldfield?

Track 4 is "Little Red Robin Hood Hit The Road" from Robert Wyatt (from the 'Rock Bottom' album).

And I think track 5 is the title track from TD's 'Zeit'.

Yes it is Mike Oldfield. Quite interesting for Olfield fans to get that one.

Sorry, can't give you any clues for track n°7 : I don't know myself who it is !!!!

But Triumvirat sounds logic...

it is not triumvirat!

this band sounds really modern; listen to the guitar and drums styles: triumvirat doi not sound like that!

I think it's prior to Sally Oldfield (her first album came out in 78 I think). There are no elements of ambient pop that can hear when you listen to Dead Can Dance. This track is too "folky" to be Dead Can Dance.

3 iona

Well, I also think it is Iona. Anyone can confirm this ?

5 edgar froese's aqua or early TD

Yes !! It is in fact Tangerine Dream's Zeit (1972). Track called Zeit.

6 ozric tentacles + egdon heath?

Well, it is neo-prog but neither of these bands. I'll give you a clue : it's a British band.

7 spock's beard, echolyn

I don't know ! I don't think it is Spock's Beard though...

Good try anyway !!

Well, as I've already said, I don't know (and don't think it is Cairo).

Someone would have to confirm that.

Ok guys and girls. Where are the experts ? I don't understand. Either they don't have time for a game or they shouldn't call themselves as such.

I hope it's the first explanation...
