I have just watched the White Stripes on TV live at Glastonbury. Is there a worse band on the planet? Can't sing, play or write songs. And every performance from the bands I've seen so far has been almost as dire. The only band I would enjoy is Oysterband and they're on a minor stage.

Glastonbury in the 70s was awesome. Is it getting worse or am I just a grumpy old man?

I agree.  I've just watched a bit of the white stripes.  they are too overrated for words.  their set was just a complete mess.

How does a band like the white stripes make it so big...I will never understand it.

I don't think it's so much an age factor- I'm 17 and I find 90% of the bands at Glastonbury shockingly dire; it's full of over hyped, dull indie miserabilists or punk rip-off merchants.

I have to say it's probably been one of the most boring experiences I've ever had watching the likes of Interpol, and the insultingly bad Roisin Murphy....

well, last year it was good, I thought. Paul McCartney, Muse, Oasis, and some others. Not the most amazing, but what can you ask for in the 2000's?
