Ever since my teenage years the only Paul Simon album I ever owned was Graceland (first on cassette then CD). Now, with the release of his latest CD So Beautiful or So What (which I do not own yet), my interest in his music has piqued again. Are there any recommendations from Simon fans as to where to go from here? I have a great collection of Simon & Garfunkel music already (a box set), so this thread is intended to help guide me through his solo input.
Does anyone have strong feelings about his music either way? Love it? Hate it?

I've only got Graceland and Surprise. I give a slight edge to Surprise.

The one that gets the most plays around here is Graceland. However, my first proper Paul Simon purchase was The Rhythm of the Saints. I really do enjoy it, yet for some reason I haven't given it a spin in ages. I should probably do so using the intended running order rather than the final one.

I'm considering making The Rhythm of the Saints the next Paul Simon purchase, yet my love for Simon & Garfunkel (especially their swan song Bridge of Trouble Water) makes me lean towards Simon's solo debut.
