I'm referring of course to Doctor Who. In this hypothetical scenario, Matt Smith announces the sixth season will be his last. They haven't revealed who will be replacing him, but have teased that it is a prog musician. Who would you wish for it to be?

You don't have to take acting chops into consideration, although for guys like Fish it will definitely be an advantage. But for the purposes of this exercise it's assumed that they'll get whatever necessary acting coaching beforehand.

I think Peter Hammill is at the top of my list (hence why he's at the top of this poll). I just think the dynamics and range of his character and emotions would make for some really interesting scenarios.

Fish would just be amazingly badass and probably spend most of his season drinking antifreeze and suplexing Daleks. I'd love to watch that.

Ayreon would be really interesting as well. I imagine him spending a lot of time remembering and rediscovering some of the wackiest parts of the universe (and taking a detour across the Migrator Trail to pay the Last Man On Earth a visit).

What do you guys think?

"Okay I've got ears, hands, legs... wait... something's terribly wrong!" LOL

Once we got past that though, I think people could look past the fact that he's wheelchair-bound and  it would make for some awesome episodes (especially since he'd be forced to rely more on his intellect and the strength of his companions).

Arjen. The man travels through space with or without a TV show anyways.

LOL

This is exactly what I was thinking when I included him.

"I've got some great locations in mind! We're filming on location right?"

Imagine a scenario in which the good Doctor is kidnapped and brainwashed by an alien species bent on the destruction of earth, only saving those they deem "worthy" to return to their home planet of Kobaļa.  In the brainwashing process, the Doctor has somehow forgotten how to speak in English, now only knowing the aliens' language - Kobaļan.  With time (and a little patience) from his friends and team members, the Doctor eventually regains some use of the English language, and more as the season goes on.  My choice for the actor should seem a bit obvious by now - none other than Christian Vander! LOL

Brian May has a PhD in Astrophysics. So I am quite confident he could at least study successfully to become a physician if he chose.

Either him, or Henry Rollins, who would just scream that you're not sick and to get the hell out of his office.
