Oftentimes, whenever I refresh the forum, I'm logged out. I have to log in again and again multiple times whenever I visit the forum.
Also, when I'm ready to post a review, it ends up not being posted because I was unknowingly logged out. I then have to copy and paste the review again, as well as redo all the text mods ("<b></b>", etc).
If this has already been brought up, I apologize. But this problem has been persisting for a while.

Sounds like bad cookies, but don't know why they would suddenly start doing it if they hadn't before...

Another thing is when do the forum login I don't login on the homepage; it's like each section's login was completely independent.

Are you using Quick Login or the full login?

Depends. Usually full on the forum, and always full on the homepage.

Best to avoid using the quick log in in any part of the site.

Happens to me as well, I just thought it was because I switched over to Firefox because that's when it started.
Do you guys use Mozilla as well?

It certainly hasn't stopped for me. But it probably will by the time this thread is acknowledged.

Yeah, this old bug has returned with a vengeance. Have had to log in two or three times after getting back from work....which was just a couple of hours ago.

Yeah, that's kind of an easy cop-out from the error message.... this kind of stuff only happens here, on MMA and JMA.... In other words on mailto:M@Xs" rel="nofollow - M@X's sites.... and I mean NOWHERE ELSE....
And it's happened on two of the last three W-E, for almost the whole of the two days... I'm almost down to dreading the non-working days
--------------------------------------------------
My guess is that it's something to do with a change that occured after a forum update... I don't have the memory of this happening before the creation of MMA (some 15 months ago.... so it could be something that got crearted there and imported on PA in an update, then transferred in JMA upon its creation....
-----------------
Never use the quick log on, btw.... unless it's not working with the normal login... strangely enough.... the quick login remembers my username and passwords, when the normal login often doesn't

Seriously, this is horribly irritating. I would at least like to see this problem acknowledged by someone who can do something about it.

The only people who can do something about it are M@X and Graphix. Could you provide some more details as to:
1) which browser and version 2) which operating system 3) what are you doing when it happens? 4) how often does it happen? 5) when did it happen last?
These are apparently random events, so without as much information as you can provide, nobody will be able to do anything about it.

1) Firefox 3.6.13 2) Windows 7 3) It happens most of the time I refresh the page, regardless of how long it's been since I last refreshed it. It also sometimes happens when I go to a new page on the forum. 4) It varies. Oftentimes, I'm logged out 3-4 times during one visiting session. 5) Just now. It's been happening for the past six months or so.
Also, I rarely use the quick login. I almost always use the full.

I just realized something - this has never happened to me, at least to the extent that you're experiencing it Anthony. The only thing I experience is when I go to post a review, it's logged me out of the main site, but I've never been spontaneously logged out of the forum by refreshing. For me, it's simply a disconnect between the homepage's login server and the forum's login server.
My info is: 1) Google Chrome 13.0.782 2) Win 7 3) Posting a review, or anything else on the home page that requires me to be logged in (ie editing an album) 4) Virtually constantly, when I visit the forum I seem to be logged out of the home page 5) Actually last I remember was the last time I posted a review before today... which was last Wednesday. But I haven't had any reason to be logged on the home page since then so I'm sure (although it seemed to be working today)

My problem is more logging on to the forum and then going to write a review, and I'm not logged on to the main site.

With Opera, you cannot: - Write and add a review - Operate the Admin panel - Add new albums But I can: - Add new interviews - Write in the forum (as I do now through Opera)

This is a case of the forum software losing the coockies, isn't it? It can't be a concidence that the logging out issue came back with the issue of losing the "last login time" halfway through the process of checking the New Posts. This is the bug I hate most at PA (even more than Access Denied).

I experienced this for the first time today during my Wigwam review. So I've effectively written 1.5 reviews today...
Another thing, and I may be in the wrong section here, is that every time I try logging in from the front page or any album page for that matter, as a matter of fact this happens each and every time I'm about to write a review, I bizarrely get funnelled into the forum part of PA. Every time. I then click back two times and then log in again - and voila I can begin my review

^ Both things have happened to me as well, and the normal problem still persists. In fact, it may have gotten a bit worse.
I'm sorry to relentlessly bitch about this so much, but it really does make the site less enjoyable.
