it's such an underlooked number...and that was 161 albums that i feel they deserve to be named as great...and yes I do really like that Melanie C album...some great pop songs

What was interesting about the list to me was the inclusion of out and out pop albums like Voulez- Vous by Abba. I'm not sure I can honestly say that I would want any real 'pop' albums in my list.Credit goes to the OP for being honest at least.

What I like about your list, is that you have a variety in musical tastes. What I don´t like is that you included some really horrible stuff (IMO) in there, and even more than once, Simply Red, Björk, Michael Jackson! Those artist make me shudder!

I highlighted in Red what I agree with, I put a sad face to the stuff I can not stand and the things not marked, I don´t know or have a neutral opinion about:

I haven't heard Bjork's Post, but it's not until Bjork's Homogenic that the list becomes kind of interesting to me (though it's really Homogenic Live that interests me). We have very different tastes, and various ones in red are especially not to my tastes. To each his or her own tastes, of course.

each to our own...Im just not overly critical and like a very wide taste, and I admit I do need to hear more. Most of these albums also mean alot to me and are kind of like landmarks at points of my lives

I love a good amount of classical music, although their not really albums, if I was to make a list of favourite pieces of classical music, it would be quite odd, but off hand what I love is Mozarts Symphony in Gm, Debussy's Preldue l'apres midi du faune, Grieg's Peer Gynt, Faure's Requiem, Rutter's Requiem, Dvorak's New World etc..

I do like a good bit of jazz, and I was considering putting Dave Bruebecks Time Out their, maybe along with Mahavishnu Orchestra's Inner Mounting Flame, Miles Davis' Bitches' Brew & Kind Of Blue and whatever jazz I have. Oooh and Herbie Hancock's Headhunter.

I really can't stand blues, i really detest it, it bores the life out of me. My dad really likes it and I think that's why i dislike it. One or 2 songs or albums now and then maybe, but its a very lifeless genre to me at times.

And I do dislike alot of country, and any country I'll listen to has to be quite poppy, e.g. Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks etc.

There are a lot of neat albums in your list! I'm impressed, and I thought your high rating for the third Coheed & Cambria album was excellent. I really enjoy it, along with the first two. Also, glad to see that you like "The Holy Bible" by the Manic Street Preachers; you and I obviously share a few similar tastes in music.

I'm a massive Manic Street Preachers fan, Everything Must Go would be my favourite, but The Holy Bible atmospherically is better, lyrically their also the best.

And Coheed's third album was a real life changer for me, it will always be something special to me.

And yea I have all The Smith's albums, and I do like Meat Is Murder, I need to give it another listen cause it dragged on a bit for me at times, but I think I'll need to get into it more, the same with Strangeways

Their apparently a jazz rock band, but I'm talking about the gothic rock/metal band, or love metal as they coined themselves, all their songs are basically based on gothic oxmorons, e.g. Dark Light, Buried Alive By Love, Venus Doom, Join Me In Death etc.

I have a huge list of favorite albums. I should post it for fun and stuffz. I was astonished at your list. Some of these I love, some o these I detest. HIM? Wowzers. Not bad, just unexpected. Interesting.

I agree, C&C's third is a masterpiece. I also loved the album when I first heard it, and it still holds up extremely well years later. I haven't heard any other Smiths album besides "Meat Is Murder," so I'll check out some of their other records.
