I'm a huge Mega Man fan. I actually played through one of the games last night. It's really close between 2 & 3, but I went with 3 pretty much because it was a longer game. The music was pretty good, I loved the weapons and the robot master designs were awesome (Shadow Man and Top Man two of my favorites). It's a tough choice between 4 and 5 for me. I played through 2 last night (it was the first Mega Man game I ever had- I recall Crash Man kicking my ass on numerous times). All of them are excellent though.

Rush was introduced in 3. He changed into a jet or submarine or launching platform. Didn't play many of these Mega Man games (mostly the "X" series, for me), but I'll have to go with 3, from what I remember. Mega Man is just crazy awesome all around, despite how frustrating it gets... -------------

Getting a boss' weapon after defeating them was always what (to me, anyway) separated Mega Man from the standard fare of the older Mario and Sonic games. Although, the Mario franchise has evolved into some pretty good 3D games, while Mega Man has the Legends series, which is still awesome, but I still want a MM 3D game in the original or X universe with robot masters. I love the "rock paper scissors" gameplay when it comes to robot masters' weapons. I also love that you can choose your stage (at least until you get to Wiley's skull castle ).

can Megaman and Link be lookd upon as the opesits in the Nintendo univers, one is high tech and cyborg kid from the future or something, Link is an elf with big ears, from the past, and cast spells and wield a sword, but all in the end they both needed a plumber from Italy

The video here is of Rockman 7-FC, basically a remade Mega Man 7 with NES graphics, music, etc. It's fanmade, but it's really well done! I consider it a full on "remake" of sorts. Wow that's a blast from the past. Early 90's right? My younger brother loved those games and I think I played most of the way through 2 of them. I'm sure among the first 3. Fun game play.

| I've played through all of them more times than I can remember (except 7 and 8, each of which I only played through once) and my favorite... is Mega Man 9. For my money, that had some of the coolest weapons and obstacles you're likely to find. Probably not an answer many purists will like, but I'm a purist myself. Why not 9? It's based on 2, generally considered the best. BUT... if not 9... then it's got to be 3. And it might even be 3 anyways, I just wanted to include 9 as a serious contender. But 3 was the first video game I can remember playing at all, and it had the coolest Robot Masters. To this day Mega Man is about the only series of games I every play. Great stuff. I played through all the X games too and at one point had all the dialogue (granted, there isn't much) in X memorized. That one had the coolest characters. |

I vote for 3 its the first one i played and i like the music in that one the best, but i allso prefer the X series much more, since Super Nintendo was my first game system i owned, i only tryed my friends 8-bits systems never hade one my self but i was one of the first to own a Snes instead. Which is my favorit game system to this day. I will never forget playing all thos amazing Snes game, real gaming magic it was.  -------------

If I had to pick 1, I guess it'd be 4... I like being able to power up and slide, even though you sometimes accidentally slide off the ledge when you mean to jump. I like all the 8-bit Mega Man games just about the same though including 9 & 10 The Mega Man X series (at least the SNES ones, X1-X3) was great as well... Mega Man Legends (aka Mega Man 64 for N64) was pretty good too from what i remember.

| When I was much younger, my father downloaded me an emulator with like 600 NES games, so I tried all the Megaman games, however, I never got to see a boss, because the games were too hard for me. I remember that my favorite was 6 because it was much more polished than the rest, I'm sure my opinion wouldn't be the same today, but right now, I have nothing else to go on. |

The ones I played were on GameBoy, I don't know if they were the same as the NES ones but they were all good. I'll vote 1 because it's the one I beat. Truthfully I never played a lot of the sidescrolling Megaman games, but I was a HUGE fan of the Battle Network series on GBA.

The past couple months, my friend and i played and beat Mega Man 1 through 10. Its pretty hard to choose a favorite. They're all good. I know I already voted for 4 a while back. But I really don't think I prefer one over the others. I do have a few complaints though. The Wily fight at the end of 6 was way too easy. In 7, it was the other way around. The whole game up til the end was a little too easy but the final battle against Dr. Wily was harder than any other Mega Man. Also the dialogue in Mega Man 8 (for PS1) was pretty unbearable. Mega Man really should've been called Mega Boy in that one.

| Whoever said they preferred the X series, I concur. I liked most of the original Mega Man games, but I always felt the X games were harder, had more interesting (and well-built) battles/bosses, and the music was more ear-catching. Maybe it was the NES' weakness over the SNES, but whichever way the wind blows. |

I'd vote, but I can't remember. So long ago. My son and I used to play these things on the NES and SNES. He was always much better than me, given that my reaction time and anticipation was already shot by that point. A fine series it was. I probably have some cartridges down in the basement (and everything but the NES still works!). I should drag it out, hook it up, and again experience the inevitable failure. I have a concept album called The Phantom Mantoplexium and part of it has a Mega Man boss battle (even though the story is not focusing on Mega Man, he just defeats this robot powered by spirits controlled by the Mantoplexium we made called Ghostman.) If you wanna hear that video game music feel free to PM me I dont think its online. Oh- and 2 is amazing. The music gets me everytime. Make sure you check out Bit Brigades Megaband.
