The Band "Bröselmaschine are in the archives as "Broselmaschine". Also there second album is called "Peter Bursch und die Bröselmaschine", not "Peter Brusch".

The name of the first album is still spelled Broselmaschine,  it should be spelled Bröselmaschine. The same misspell occurs here:

Could you please show me where he has requested this?

^ It's in the Admin Panel, in the page for band additons:

No special character, use western alphabet. No ( ) or | , please use 1 name and in the bio specify the aka, alternate name

I wonder why...if it works. I'm sure other entries use special characters.

As far as I know it's both a technical issue (encoding limitations for supporting the special characters), and a search engine optimization issue (if a non-native is going to search the band on Google, he's more likely to search for Broselmaschine than for the correct version with special characters which most likely don't appear on his keyboard).

I guess I'd better change them back then. But first I will check data standards.

Well, like you said, some special characters seem to be supported and show up, like this one, maybe it's OK to leave it. Maybe M@x can help us with an answer.

Ok.....I could send M@X a message, because lets face it, by the time he replies it will have been up there for ages.
