Hi there proggers!!!

My name is Ryan, I'm 20 years old, I Live in Ontario, Canada. I have been a fan for more than 4 years, and I finally decided to register. When I was younger my dad had quite the record collection, although he wasn't a progger, I found most of the albums that I had listened to was prog or prog related. I didn't know of Progressive music until I heard Dream Theater which was shown by some friends who are not proggers, lol. Ever since then my library of music branched off everywhere. So my library is pretty varied, like Zeuhl, Jazz fusion, Prog Metal, Symphonic etc. I like the typical bands that everyone starts off with, Dream Theater, Yes, Genesis, ELP, Symphony X, Rush etc. Furthermore I have a french culture so i do like some french Prog bands like, Ange, Cano, (recently found) Vecteur K. Also, i like alot of non-prog music, such as, Iron Maiden, Edwin, Our Lady Peace, The Tragically Hip, Metallica, Pendulum and many more. The music that I don't like is basicly anything that is very pop oriented, but obviously if a pop band has some prog elements, I'll at least take a listen.

I am also a multi-instrumentalist: vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards. I am not really good but i keep my head up and keep trying, espacially since i havn't mastered all these instruments, I still try and enjoying the steps towards my music coming to life.

The reason I joined this forum is I am very lonely where I live in the prog music world. Even though I have friends that appreciate my love for this music, they don't share any interest in Prog, So I'm hoping to find some proggers to connect with and maybe even friendship. So thank you for taking your time to read this and hope to learn and teach the way of prog!

Thanks, your newbie Progger,
Ryan
