I just recently upgraded my guitar rig. I'm still using my Fender Mexi-strat w/ Floyd and Carvin pickups, but I re-did my entire pedal board and rack. Now it includes a Digitech RP-1000 for multi-effects and modeling, a Whammy pedal, a 1980s Digitech Echo Plus on the floor, and an original Lexicon Jam Man with the 32 second upgrade. (I do a fair amount of looping...) This all goes into my 1980s-era Gallien Krueger MLS 1x12 for practice, and adding a 4x12 for gigs. When pressed, I will add my old Roland GR-1 guitar synth to the mix, but not many places I've played have enough floor space to accommodate all this...

I have 13 pedals on my pedal board.....also kind of excessive. I'd kill for that looping device because I loop a lot, but mine is a 5 second max or something. ------------- Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell? I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance. |

| Your rig is definately not excessive, at the moment I run a 2 amp w/212 setup, and around 15 pedals on the board. Its still growing. |

A good method to find out if your rig is too much for you is to start by using a reduced rig with the pedals you use the most, and start adding the other pedals one by one when you feel they are much needed. This way you can really see if you have pedals that aren't useful for you. | It seems rather conservative to me. I use far more stuff. The real trick is the organization. It is often a good idea to patch all your effects into a single strip of labeled true bypass switches so you have less of a foot dance to do. |
