I had to go with Geezer, although I honestly consider him and Tony inseparable. I don't think they work without each other.

Gotta go with Tony. His riffs defined not only the band, but much of heavy metal to come.

I don't know it depends on the album. Bill Ward on Paranoid and Tony on the self-titled those two are for sure.

I'll have to go with Bill, for supplying drums so vital to the doom sound.

Why is Dio and other on the list? That stuff isn't Sabbath. The 4 components of Black Sabbath are inseperable, can't choose one over the others.
How long must one post here before they can vote in polls?

I voted for Geezer Butler, as without his jazzy bass runs on the earlier material, Sabbath would have been just a great heavy rock band.

Favourite: Tony. But regardless of that, Black Sabbath was ultimately Tony, fact.

Got to be Geezer. The albums without him aren't doom!

As Ozzy said in his bokk I Am Ozzy everyone was essential in the early years. By far Ozzy has been the most successful original Sabbath member. Sharon had heeps to do with this.

Tony was the one who held it all together. So I'm going to have to go with him.
