they make food, that are heavenly, both are british both are TV faces, both have a certain attitude and charisma, one is swearing A LOT, the other one is messy,

whos food would you most cerrtanly have eaten, if you had the choice of having one of them cerving you (in your home, or party. or something, thanksgiving, christmas, easter, valentines day,)

There are more flattering pics out there but she's shown in her kitchen.

Just noticed a sous chef in the background, wait a second, that's not Gordon is it? LOL

Ramsay .. he'd kick Oliver's ass in a streetfight and near as I can tell he can cook circles around him too (but I'd have to actually taste both their food, to be fair)

Both irritate the crap out of me when they're on TV (Nigella the posh dumpling does too). I haven't eaten in a Ramsey restaurant, but I have tried cooking his recipes - they are dreadfully difficult to follow and get right. Jamie recipes on the other hand work perfectly and are dead easy to follow. I've eaten in two of his restaurants and they were a foodie heaven without being stuffy and pretentious. So Jamie gets my vote.

Jamie Oliver.
My Mrs. loves cooking and cooking shows. We went to London to be on a tv programme called Market Kitchen. She went on it again the following year with her sister. The celebrity chef was Giorgio Locatelli it was good fun but a LONG day!

I've got one of Jamie's books and more than that I have actually used it,  He seems pretty genuine to me, even though he is a tad irritating.  Ramsey is in his own vernacular a complete c**t !

The 'Posh Dumpling' makes me laugh.

I haven't actually seen or have any cookbooks by any of those three.

One cookbook I have with what I consider to be really difficult recipes is a Rick Bayless Mexican one, so I nicknamed him Rick Painintheass.  Actually I was just flipping through the book and there are some easy ones.  Rustic Ranch Style Soup with tomato, jalapeno, and avacado is wonderful when you have a cold.   The most difficult one I tried is his Essential Simmered Guajillo Sauce.  It came out really good though.  You actually fry the sauce. to finish it.

We have this chef in Atlanta, Paul Luna, who has a reputation for getting very upset if you ask for salt and pepper at the table. LOL

I only knew Jamie by name and just checked him because I certainly was not going to vote for Gordon. He gets my vote.

I like how simple Jamie's recipes are.

And I saw a chicken parmesan recipe on youtube on which he poured a bit of balsamic vinegar... three seconds before I was about to eat my own dinner (pork tenderloin). So I added some too on my meat, and it's the greatest idea since sliced bread. My meals just got a whole lot better thanks to Jamie. Big smile

Jamie does tend to go heavy on the balsamic - but boy does it work. His Bubble and Squeak with Sausages and Onion Gravy calls for half a bottle of the cheapest balsamic - which sounds outrageous but it is absolutely amazing. Basically you take link sausages and unlink them to make one long sausage that you then roll up like a catherine wheel and pin it together with wooden skewers - you slather that in olive oil and sprinkle it with crushed black pepper and dried mixed herbs and lay it on a bed of sliced red onion in a shallow baking tray, splash on more olive oil and slam it in the oven for 30-40 minutes until cooked. The Bubble and Squeak is diced potato, swede and carrots boiled until tender, then drained and lightly crushed with a wooden spoon. In a frying pan cook shredded savoy cabbage (the green stuff) in a little oil and butter for a few minutes, then add the mashed potato, swede and carrot, mix them up a bit then fry them off until they form a crispy crust. To make the gravy, remove the sausage from the tray and stir in a tablespoonful of flour into the caramelised onion and meat juices, next add the balsamic vinegar and 300ml of chicken stock, then boil it on hotplate until you get a rich unctuous gravy. It works best with two types of sausage wound together, he used pork and beef, but I've found pork and venison works well too.

As many times as I've seen it and heard the man brag about it, I would want to try Ramsay's Beef Wellington.

Looks simple enough (aside from all the prep, wrapping it all in cling-film and multiple chilling stages). I notice he doesn't add a layer of chicken liver pate - that could be a good move since the pate can over-power the subtle flavour of the mushroom duxelle. My sister-in-law did his version for our family christmas get-together - she also did a more trad version with pate - the two peices of fillet steak must have cost her a small fortune Shocked

James Martin has a version using pancakes instead of prosciutto ham to wrap the meat before encasing it in pastry - that soaks up the meat juices while cooking and stops the pastry going soggy on the bottom (and no-one likes a soggy bottom Wink). Jamie Oliver has a cheaper version that uses ground beef instead of fillet - sort of a meat loaf en croûte but without the cereal binder/filler and of course that needs longer cooking and can't be eaten quite as rare as the fillet version.

I understand that some people do need an a****le to set them straight, but Gordon Ramsay is just a gimmick.

Jamie.

EDIT: Woops, didn't read poll question. LOL Oh well, Jamie would still get my vote.

Gordan Ramsey by a mile.  They are both great cooks but I watched a Christmas Special Gordon did where he was cooking for family and friends (and cooking with his kids) and his passion for cooking is tremendous.  Been trying to get to his Los Angeles restaurant  as my wife is fan.  She likes Nigella too but for the sound of her vice mostly.   For watching someone cook cannot beat Giada (I know she is American but....)

One simple idea that my wife got from Jamie Oliver was roast chicken in the oven with grape tomatoes, olive oil, garlic (and I think he used basil, but I prefer rosemary)  - she made it the other night, it was just so delicious.

She has her own show on the Food Network.   It is usually on at 10 am or so PST.  Called Giada at Home I believe.

I might have seen her cook stuff but I'm too busy looking at her breasts...Tongue  But in all seriousness (yes I can be serious) I've watched more than a few of her shows and she's not annoying and is a skilled cook.  Rachel Ray, don't get me started on Rachel. LOL  I'm sure she's a good cook but her omnipresence has become annoying.

Close to my house is a restaurant that Gordon Ramsay used to work in. It's way too expensive for me and I don't have the clothes to get in.

Also close to my house is one of those Jamie Oliver stores where you can take cooking classes or have them a cook a meal or something like that.

Jamie Oliver annoys me less and his ideas for Christmas turkey left overs inspired my brother to make me food. I like this Jamie Oliver.
