I think most of us are familiar with these characters from avidly watching the show at some point in our lives, either when we were young or as channel-surfing adults.  I've listed the major players in the series history to choose from (although I have not seen the show at all in recent history so I don't know who holds the spotlight now).

I hate muppets- they all scare me....anyways if I HAD to choose...

Snuffleupagus- he is the most prog. Seems like an outsider- and the most introspective for sure.

Unless I'm very much mistaken Bork is a Muppet Show character and not a Sesame Street one. Wink

I always liked The Count.

There is by the way a great movie, Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird, which I watched so often with my kids back in the day that it gave me permanent brain damage.  Lots of good guests, including Chevy Chase, John Candy, Sandra Bernhard, and Waylon Jennings (who sings "There Ain't No Road Too Long", a fine little outlaw country number).

I should have included Kermit in my choices, even though he's more closely related to the Muppet Show than Sesame Street, he was a frequent guest on the latter to warrant inclusion.

After Kermit, Grover was the one I identified most with. Big smile

Elmo and the Telly Monster were after my time.

I guess we need a best Muppet Show character poll.  Hang on I'll do it.
