I know it doesn't make much sense that I should like this guy considering my album collection is filled with giant, bombastic progressive masterpieces. I've heard him compared to Dylan, but I'm really not a big Dylan fan at all outside of a couple songs. However, I find Scott's music simply irresistable. Honest, straight-forward, but also lyrically clever and always thoughtfully executed. I know he came out of a band called the Waterboys, but I must admit, I know little of them. Any other prog-listeners dig Mike Scott? |

This is the ex-Waterboys guy isn't it? If it is then yeah, he's a real
talent and worth a look see if you're interested in troubadour songs

I'm a big fan of The Waterboys. This Is The Sea is brilliant. I didn't go
much for their folky period. As for Mike Scott, I've lost touch with him after Dream Harder. Is his recent stuff any good? |

Major fan of the man from early Waterboys through to recent material - I'd highly recommend the recent "Rock In A Weary Land", a real return to form. -------------

Jim Garten - Thanks, I'll have to check out Weary Land... russelk - Solo albums are Bring 'Em All In ('95) and Still Burning ('97) and I would recommend them both. BEAI is probably a bit better, but the Jimi Hendrix-tribute song called King Electric from Still Burning is absolutely fantastic. |
