Hi,

I found this information on a Polish news portal. They cited http://www.wotyougot.com/11-01-2011/kate-bush/new-album-to-be-released-in-2011" rel="nofollow - this blog as their source. Not sure if it's trustworthy... As they say: "this http://www.wotyougot.com/11-01-2011/kate-bush/new-album-to-be-released-in-2011/" rel="nofollow - marvelous news that the KATE BUSH will be releasing a new album in 2011 came to us via phone conversation(s) we had from the reliable source(s)".

What say you?

I would be surprised: from the statistics of her career, I would haven't expected any album before 2020. At least.

Also, damn, it's 2011 already?  How did that happen?  (When you get old these kind of things tend to sneak up on you.) Tongue

It was confirmed by a "spokesman" in the Evening Standard tonight that Kate Bush will be releasing new "material" this year, but it's not clear if it will be an album or just some new songs.

I'm not sure that all her _______________________ about the Rocket is all that good! In fact, i would think that some of it might not be ... exactly worthy of prime time news and better left behind and gone away down the river?

I would never demand an album from Kate, and I do think that when she is ready, she will be ready, and something will be there.

I was just playin Hounds of Love and Red Shoes in their entirety while driving ... yeah ... still sounds good and is amazing stuff. Aerial is a treat ... though I think that the whole album is much more personal than they had been before and possibly (to my ears) not as inventive and out there and expressive as before ... but that's probably because I like everything that is on the other side of the galaxy ... left field is not enough!

http://www.facebook.com/notes/kate-bush/kate-bush-releases-directors-cut-a-new-album-which-sees-her-re-visit-a-selection/10150117786960680" rel="nofollow - Facebook link

FTA:

Kate Bush releases an unusual new album “Director’s Cut” on May 16 on her own label Fish People, in conjunction with EMI.

On “Directors Cut” Kate revisits a selection of tracks from her albums “The Sensual World” and “The Red Shoes”, a process that presents a fascinating portrait of an artist in a constant state of evolution. She has re-recorded some elements whilst keeping the best musical performances of each song – making it something of a director’s cut but in sound, not vision.

A new version of “Deeper Understanding” will be released as a single in April. Although written some twenty years ago, the song may be more relevant today than ever…

Kate is currently working on new material although no release date has been set for this.

“Director’s Cut” will be released in the following formats:

Digital Album, Standard CD in a case-bound book, Deluxe CD (three disc package, including Director’s Cut, The Sensual Word and re-mastered The Red Shoes) in a case-bound book and two-disc vinyl.

Other digital and vinyl formats will be made available on katebush.com. Details will be published shortly.

------------------

I still think a totally new album is coming, but this is a good start. The Sensual World is my 3rd favorite Kate Bush album, and this might give The Red Shoes another chance.

Not a great fan of The Red Shoes as an album although it does have Moments Of Pleasure which honestly is one of the most beautifull songs I've ever heard.

Anyway I've pre-ordered the deluxe edition of the Directors cut. Just got to and its released just a day before my birthday so happy birthday to me!

This sound like good news if true as Aerial is stunning and a dynamic conceptual comeback for Bush. I think she could definitely do more as her voice is still beautiful. Perhaps another collaboration with Peter Gabriel is in order?

"odious" is going a bit far. I must admit I'm not sure about the "autotuned" chorus at the moment, it's lost the haunting quality of the Trio Bulgara. Need to give it a few more listens.

I think she should have updated her technology though, who uses modems now?

Singer Kate Bush has been given the green light to use text from James Joyce's Ulysses in a song - more than 20 years after first requesting it.

The reclusive performer had wanted to use the words of Joyce's character Molly Bloom for the title track of her 1989 album The Sensual World.

But she was refused and had to write her own lyrics for the track.

Now Bush, 52, has re-recorded the song - renamed Flower of the Mountain - with Joyce's own words.

"I am delighted I have had the chance to fulfil the original concept," she said.

The track will be included in Bush's forthcoming album Director's Cut, a collection of reworked songs from her Sensual World and Red Shoes albums.

"When I came to work on this project I thought I would ask for permission again and this time they said yes," she added.

Another track from The Sensual World, Deeper Understanding, now features the voice of her son Albert and is being released as a single.

I think that Kate is not interested in doing "songs" for the sake of radio and fame and what not.

I think she will have an album when it's there and not before ... she probably has enough material for 10 albums, that we won't ever hear ... but ... I don't think of her as one of those artists that feel they have to go on the road to sing and prove themselves ... she has already proven to herself anything that she has possibly wanted as an artist.

If she retired tomorrow, I would still think that she was fantastic!

Good job really as she hasn't performed live (as a solo artist) for 30 years.

KB is very much a one off. I think we can all grasp that tbh.

I'm looking forward to hearing Director's Cut in it's entirety. However, I would hope she releases an album of new material in the not too distant future. I have never been a great fan of Sensual World or The Red Shoes. Re-working them may give a new perspective in the positive vain of things....

Listened to some of this last night. I see she's redone two of my favourite Kate Songs - Moments of Pleasure and This Woman's Work. Not sure if these add anything at the moment, but will need a few more listens. Mind you, I don't think she could improve the originals.

After only one listen, I find that the tracks from The Red Shoes were greatly improved. However, most of the tracks from The Sensual World would probably have been better left alone.

PS: love that playlist. Wink

I just made an assumption but I can't find anything on the package to confirm it.It sounds so good I am surprised that it isn't a remaster.Anyway I've wrongly neglected this album it would appear. Unfortunately The Red Shoes is still dull.
