Sad news if true. As a spotty youth all I could afford was bargain bin LPs, and one of the first I bought was Spring's album. Still a fave to this day, some 37 years later! Frankly I and no doubt Pat's friends & family could do without the flippant comments above. :(

I'm suspicious too - can't find anything to substantiate this

As well as being producer, Pat also was engineer for some Van der Graff and Hammill.
....
Riverside: your gonna have to amend your attitude.

TD, please understand that out of respect for relatives and friends, we need to substantiate news stories, particularly those reporting that someone had died. No disrespect to you intended though.

I dont care much for disrespect, but this is a lot worse.
The clear implication was that Im a hoaxer; that for some perverse reason I honed in on the LIVING Pat Moran.
That's akin to the sick scenario where you get a phonecall in the middle of the night from some sad Nothing and your told your father has just died, when you know he is sleeping in the other room.

The Deacon, you are new here. We have new members posting scam and fake things here every day. You have to understand that. What was said was never personal.

If you were banned before why say it? If it is true then I guess you will be banned again.

He has many. Sort of sad b*****d that gets himself banned all over the Internet. Why? Only he knows. I'm guessing over 300 LBS, lives with parents and plays WoW.

Poor Pat Moran! An incredibly talented and singular vocalist, as well as a highly respected producer. I will admit that I had no idea he was ill.
RIP, and thank you for creating such perfect prog.

Sorry to hear of someone from this great mellotron band parting company with Earth. By the way, didn't Spring's drummer later hit the skins for Dire Straights?

Spring was a good band, with a young Pick Withers on drums, later with Dire Straits.

One of my worst experiences collecting records was the day I found the Spring LP in a dollar bin and there was a scratched up Sesame Street record inside.
Great band.
