Object of game: To see who is the toughest (or most masochistic) listener on PA.

Rules: You must sit through the music clip posted in its entirety. You cannot skip or get up and do stuff. Once you have gotten all the way through in one sitting, you may post the next clip. Of course there's no way of verifying whether you really did sit all the way though, but just be good sports ;) It's also good to post some assessment of the previous song. Also, posts from those who make failed attempts and comment on the song they couldn't make it through are welcome ;)

Also, if someone makes it through the little beauty I'm kicking it off with, don't just select songs based on length- go for a song which you find hard to make it through because of something to do with the song itself.

Try this one out:

Have to admit, irrelevant, that one felt more like eight minutes.

I've never gotten all the way through this one:

That wasn't that bad. Annoying, certainly not good, but not truely painful.

Try a band we could see a lot of here:

That Brokencyde thing was even more terrible than the Black Eyed Peas song, And that's sayin' something. I made it through both though and in return I give you this:

My tolerance level must be very low.  I made it through two lines of Ferry and had to quit.  LOL

Too f**king easy so far.

Irrelevant, the sole fact to post the Gummy Bear vid should make you banned to Hell for eternity. What, next? René la Taupe???

@CCVP: +1. But, now, I would be curious to see/hear what you call "bad music" (yes, that's a challenge).

Kevin, Brokencyde is pretty much the worst music ever created (no hyperbole). As for the Gummy Bear Song: typical little-kid Crazy-Frog-esque bullsh*t.

How about this:

We're going to be able to use this thread to create a great Halloween playlist.

(No joke- once at a Halloween party, instead of playing spooky music, I compiled a big batch of dreadful songs, My Heart Will Go On and Sometimes When We Touch and so on. It worked great, there were actual howls of "Oh no!" and so on from people when certain things came on. They didn't mind either because they understood the joke was that I was playing horrifying music for Halloween.)

Anyway, try this next one, which is pretty damn horrible. It is known best for the immortal couplet

"Touch my bum
This is life"

Edit: Oh, I made it through both of the last two. They weren't so bad. In fact the gummi song is kind of cute, it's not meant as a serious piece of music.

Second Edit: In fact, the more of this stuff I'm exposed too, the harder and harder I'll be to horrify. It's like a way of building musical stamina so that you no longer suffer a heart attack when someone plays Westlife in the vicinity.

Interesting note- The Cheeky Song was actually written by the mother of The Cheeky Girls, who are twin sisters from Romania.

OMG, their mom wrote that. What a family.

However, one of them was arrested four days ago for stealing groceries so it seems the music industry does work out alright sometimes.

We keep bashing modern pop, but the past has its horrors too. This sets my teeth on edge.

If I wasn't computer iliterate and I knew how to post links I would post a song that plays at the movie theater I work at. It's called going to the mall and it's just awful. Here's a line " quit shoppin cold turkey after thanksgiving ery things on sale, man I love retail.".. Cheeky girls is slow torture, couldn't do it. I fear that it will get stuck in my head all the time now.

A Person: Not that bad. Better than Crazy Frog.

Now here's Annie Lennox throwing her loyal fanbase in the garbage.

Jezz, I don't know where to start. . . . I've been exposed to bad music for the most part of my life on a daily basis (as soon as I went outside) so i can resist tp bad sh*t pretty well. I may need to think hard as to find something that you may find as annoying as i do, mainly because most songs are in Portuguese, so  IDK if you would understand the problem, but anyway, here is the fist sample.

OK, found something that might speak more to you.

And it gets worse with every following video.

And finally their DVD (1st of 7 parts, watch at your own risk)

BTW, they are all men and you though any of them was cute, you are gay. LOL

EDIT: @CPicard - BTW, I still find all of these somewhat listenable. I still need to find some of the videos I find unlistenable. And bad music for me is everything from Guns'n'Roses on. IMO if you can listen to them, you should be able to listen to everything in this thread.

Thread's getting a bit out of control, I just meant for one clip to be posted at a time, which one person has to get all the way through before they select the next ;)

Did anyone do the Annie Lennox?

CCVP: Well I got through that Portuguese song and I certainly did not have a lot of fun, though I think a lot of the problem was the sound quality. But I survived and so the torch is passed to me to post the next piece of music that I challenge you to sit entirely through.
But if we're talking bad live performances, we can't beat this classic epically bad performance of Europe's The Final Countdown.

The whole thing remember ;)

No, not the Venetian Snares video.  The Black Out Band one.

Also, why do people who make videos for avant-garde music always fill it with such psuedo-intellectual w**kery?

The Black Out Band video wasn't too hard to sit through, the whiny voice was funny but it was a bit too repetitious.

And I dunno.

OMG that Black Out Band video was HILARIOUS. When he started singing I almost cried laughing.
Venetian Snares was pretty easy for an old avant garde hand like me.

This song however is the bane of my life:

OK lasted 2:54 up til the girl began giggling - My kids loved it! Shows the target audience for this I guess.

MIckey by Toni Basil is a classic in kitsch, and nowhere near as bad as these others here - but anyway in the 80s it was a huge hit in Australia, and silly fun really. I easily watched that for the hilarious facial expressions and manic choreography.
