I've just listened to Barry Manilow's "Could this be Magic" (stay with me please!!!) and i think that if either YES or ELP had done this song, it would have been a classic (harp, violins, keyboard, big build-up). Before answering, listen to it with an open mind, adding maybe more bass and guitar.

The reverse could also be true: Barry Manilow doing "C'est la vie" is not so difficult to imagine.

My question is , do you know of any other  grossly " commercial " song that could be considered prog by this site's standards?

No. Moving this to General Music Discussions.

No, but most songs could be made "prog" with the right arrangement and instrumentation. Examples off the top of my head are "Something's Coming" and "America" by Yes.
