Shawn Sambol of Antithetic Records has negotiated with Dark Symphonies and now he has the licensing rights to reissue maudlin of the Well's early material on vinyl.
"As far as other future releases go, Antithetic has been in contact with Dark Symphonies in hopes of releasing the earlier maudlin of the Well albums on vinyl. Originally these were not on the table, but we asked again just to be safe, and we're glad that we did! It's confirmed that Antithetic Records will have licensing rights to release the first 3 motW albums on vinyl! Our initial thoughts are to release Bath and Leaving Your Body Map as a 4LP box set. Not sure exactly when this will happen, but all in due time. We have also been in contact with Hydra Head Records about doing a vinyl release for Kayo Dot's Stained Glass EP. This one is also available to us for licensing, so it will be on our radar as a future release as well. "

Yeah they should probably reissue the cds first. If this happens though, it will be completely amazing.

This is awesome. I prefer this to a cd reissue actually. Wow. Really loving this right now.
Hopefully the first two Kayo Dot albums get vinyl releases at some point.

Also, what's that in the article about Animals as Leaders? Does this mean a reprinting of the debut on vinyl or that they're releasing the next album for them?

Vinyl = music media who like to be able to see album art.

Having a bigger album art does not make the music sound actually better.

Not when you are unable to listen to the music clearly because of the friction between the disc and the needle.

That's probably why I didn't mention anything about the music.

Might want to update your player there.

I won't be wasting at least R$ 10k (+ R$ 10k in taxes) *just* to upgrade my turntable. I'm actually saving that money to buy an awesome sound station.

Dunno, listening to vinyl while looking at the gatefold just makes you feel like you own the music.

Yeah. I'm happy for the vinyl junkies, but I'm still missing the CDs here.

There are still some copies of the CDs floating around there. MFP is still available on KD's website (the 2007 reissue) and copies of Bath and LYBM still turn up on eBay every so often. Took me a month and $40 each but I managed to acquire a copy of Bath and two copies of LYBM on CD.

I actually ordered Bath and LYBM for $40 each from some place in Austria about 3 weeks ago that should be here in the next day. MFP is always available, though it is easily their weakest album. Still totally worth getting though.

One's an original and one is a reissue. The second copy popped up on Discogs for fifteen bucks and I just snatched it up the second I saw it. Kind of a kneejerk reaction.

motW: Bath + Leaving Your Body Map -- 21.10.2011
Blood Music is pleased to FINALLY announce solid ordering information about the motW200 Gram 4xLP + 7" Deluxe Box Set.
The pre-orders will go live on Friday October 21st, and there will be 2 separate options to buy:
Box set with all the goodies for 65€ + ship.
Box set with goodies + a motW shirt. Price is yet to be determined, but we assume to be around 80€ + ship.
There will only be 250 sets available through Blood Music. Our pre-order goal is 175 in order to get this deluxe set into pressing stage. As a bonus, we offer the following goodies ONLY for pre-orders:
motW logo PRINTED GUITAR PICK.
motW logo SCREEN-PRINTED PATCH (10 x 17.5 cm).
28x43 CM POSTER, signed by Toby Driver.
The option to buy a MAUDLIN OF THE WELL "Part the First" replica SHIRT. Only 100 of these shirts were made available when these albums were released 10 years ago.
The shirts will NOT be sold separately. And the only thing that will remain in the final 75 box sets is an unsigned poster.
The front design of the T-shirt is still being finalized, but the back will be a replica of the original "Part the First" shirt released in 2001:
PLEASE NOTE: We are taking these orders to help push the set along. Your pre-orders are helping something this deluxe to become a reality.
We will post pictures and progress updates as the production moves forward.
We hope to have these sets ready to ship by the end of the year, but please understand we cannot guarantee a ship date at this time. That said, you will always know where we are in the process.
This is a virtually non-profit release, a chance to publish rare music that we feel deserves its proper audience. So, please feel free to spread the word in order to help us help this set get rolling.
Remember that http://bloodmusic.bigcartel.com/" rel="nofollow - is handling worldwide orders, and http://antitheticrecords.storeenvy.com/" rel="nofollow - (publishers of motWPart the Second andKayo DotStained Glass) is handling USA & Canada orders.
