Which prog band has consistently produced the most uplifting, positive messages in their music (but I am talking about lyrics here mainly) without being overly sentimental and unrealistic.

Would be good if you could use examples.

So, it might be that the album starts out with a negative aspect but as the music progresses it offers a hopeful message.

ALSO:
Personally, bagging other peoples taste in music and which band they support on this site really sucks. We are all unique and everyone will have different tastes in some way.  Why can't we accept that and critique the music without it turning into a 'my music is better than yours' forum.

So if you are in the habit of doing this, please don't bag anyone out on this thread for what they suggest but use 'intelligent' discussion and evidence if you believe someone is in need of 'correction'.

The Flower Kings, for sure!

Vox Humana has the most uplifting lyrics I've EVER heard, they're almost sacchrine!  But I love them anyway.

See the children playing in the evening sun
see them riding kites accross the sky
Take them gently in, into the new design
see if the magic will prevail.

If you listen close now you can hear a stream
running from a sacred place within
calling gently without promise but a dream
to let the flood of love begin

Now this moment all the pieces find it's home
strung high but touch gently
We can figure out the steps that need to be
to get home -
see clearly the one future-
Sincerely depend on you ........

Any way you like it, any way you hope
any of the details of your dream
you can make it happen as you realize
the gates of Eden lies within

Everybody loves your every try to care
Dive into the multicolour scene
You can stop the nursing of the 7 sins
and give the wheel of love a spin

Now this moment all the pieces find it's home
strung high but touch gently
We can figure out the steps that need to be
to get home -
see clearly the one future-
Sincerely depend on you ........
We all depend on you
I am You and you are Me

Childhood's End?
Lyrics: Dick
Music: Dick/Kelly/Mosley/Rothery/Trewavas
And it was morning
And I found myself mourning,
For a childhood that I thought had disappeared
I looked out the window
And I saw a magpie in the rainbow, the rain had gone
I'm not alone, I turned to the mirror
I saw you, the child, that once loved

The child before they broke his heart
Our heart, the heart that I believed was lost

Hey you, surprised? More than surprised
To find the answers to the questions
Were always in your own eyes

Do you realise that you give it on back to her?
But that would only be retraced in all the problems that you ever knew
So untrue
For she's got to carry on with her life
And you've got to carry on with yours

So I see it's me, I can do anything
And I'm still the child
'Cos the only thing misplaced was direction
And I found direction
There is no childhood's end
You are my childhood friend, lead me on

Hey you, you've survived. Now you've arrived
To be reborn in the shadow of the magpie

Now you realise, that you've got to get out of here
You've found the leading light of destiny, burning in the ashes of your memory
You want to change the world
You'd resigned yourself to die a broken rebel
But that was looking backward
Now you've found the light

You, the child that once loved
The child before they broke his heart
Our heart, the heart that I believed was lost

So it's me I see, I can do anything.
I'm still the child
'Cos the only thing misplaced was direction
And I found direction
There is no childhood's end
I am your childhood friend, lead me on

That's one of the most uplifting lyrics from Marillion.

As a band I would suggest Yes, for the same reason Threefates mentioned.

A venture, Circus Of Heaven, Hearts, Love will find a way, Survival
